Yeah, DoR is basically a new game with the same basis--I wonder if they realized the original AW system (which has been mostly unchanged at the core since AW1) would be unbalanceable with an actual online metagame? I'll admit I like AW:DS better, but that's mostly since it has more content (more COs, more War Room maps, more variety in the War Room maps with different COs).

I get the impression this site has been on life support for a while...anyway, here's a screencap of the map:
I don't have any great attachment to this map, so we could play on another if it's not to your liking. (April 24th, 2016, 18:12)Fenn Wrote: While the FFA game is going along, anybody care for a 1v1? The 4p FFA is moving slow enough that I think I can handle another game. Who's game to play a 2v2 teamer? This map looks fun.
Recommended teams are Orange Star & Yellow Comet vs. Blue Moon and Green Earth. We should probably get everyone on board and figure out who is teaming with who before putting the game up.
@ipecac: The Nell ban was mostly personal preference...I don't like the luck COs as a concept. They make all unit matchups very unreliable, since Nell's Recons can cripple even Neotanks under her SCOP.
I'm interested in the 2v2, though I have two games going on already so I'll give up my spot if somebody else wants a try. Perhaps it should be set to 1500 income? On 1000 funds per property, YC and GE have 17,000 to split between four bases, two ports and an airport. Considering how cramped the landmasses are that could lead to Inf spam. But maybe the fact that three of the bases are away from the front lines will mitigate that. More generally, do mass damage COs need a ban in this setting? I could see a team running double Olaf to have two consecutive days of snow (or -4HP to all enemy units back-to-back). (April 25th, 2016, 19:11)Fenn Wrote: Perhaps it should be set to 1500 income? When I was young and made maps to play with my brothers I used to always set funds to 9000. Quote:More generally, do mass damage COs need a ban in this setting? Spoiler threads are great I was planning to chat with my teammate if we were in similar time zones, but could always post chat logs in a thread. |
