[Spoilers] Dreylin's short visit to a late Era

Also: Yes I am semi-deliberately spamming posts! Yesterday I realised that I had just passed 5,000 to the site (wooo) and checked the listings to find myself only a meagre 45 posts behind my old nemesis Ruff_Hi! Argh

So I have to fix that!

Well here's a different suggestion... shades

Fixed. smile

EDIT: Huh, it said it had updated in the User CP, but it doesn't appear to be showing here for me. Maybe one of those cache issues?

EDIT2: Nope, a sad case of I'm and idiot-itis. Changed it in the wrong place ... now fixed.

Also note the lack of Post Count Whoriness in re-re-editing the same post! neenerneener

Ok, good that everything is clear. I will not log in this time to preserve turn order. Act according to the situation and good luck!

Thanks!

On the turn order; I'll send a quick note to Gaspar once we have declared to let him know of the turnsplit, but will also ask him if he would be OK with you logging in for short periods out of turn order to check the situation. It's entirely possible that we end up in a situation where I'm rolling the turns and then he's playing soon after, but there's an equal chance that our windows end up with him playing and then me playing immediately afterwards (as will be the case today).

Or I could just take bundles of screenshots and spam up the thread some more.... mischief

Thanks, but it is not necessary, I will find time to enter game.

t286 -

Step 1 - confirm w/Donovan that Peace signed - check

Step 2 - pause while putting middle child back into bed - check

Step 3 - log in:

Muahahaha. devil

Step 4: pootle about while Donovan finishes his turn. Hmmmm:

Perhaps he'll feel a touch more secure once we declare on Gaspar ... if he doesn't come for us. scared

All right, getting bored of waiting now

Step 5: Road 1W Donkeys

Step 6: declare war on Gaspar

C1 Charge Cav vs MG 27/22% - Withdraw (1hit)
C1 Charge Cav vs MG 64/11% - Win! jive

Decent infra. nod

Grabbed the Worker on the Horses and juggled units in Galleons:

I don't think that he can get anything into Robert Bentley next turn, so we can take it amphibiously and push the Cavalry forward.

5 Cavalry whipped around:

I started a Ship of the Line in Guinea Pigs; I'm maxing growth here and the city is only making 1hpt, so it doesn't matter much what we're building. This way it has a hammer into it if we need to whip. Next turn I'll probably switch to a Gren for the same reason.

The core cities I'll grow back to max happiness and then build Workers or Settlers while the Whip & Draft angers wear off.

That looked terrifying on civstat! Nice job!
Btw, did you finish MG with 7exp Cav? I saw you started with 5exp, that war right thing... Anyway we shall probably take both cavs with us. They can still take empty cities and capture workers.

Offer DZ gems for silks deal? Or are we late with it?

Sometimes it is good idea to save overflow from whips building gold and then switching to what you need more. For example you can build worker in 1, but your city is size of 4 and growing in 1. You build wealth till it grows to the reasonable point and then let worker out. You lose some worker turns but they are usually less important than having higher pop.

I wonder what is BGN looking for. He gets ~15 coins more from our trade routes, but is he going to spoil that? He spent ages on pacifism/cadte and I doubt he could produce much. Those SoLs are very expensive... What are they for? Can you send him a spy ? With OB they are rarely caught so we can sit in his territory.

I think we need to get proper defense there 3-4 cavs between Chameleons and Guniea Pigs could be the least necessary measure. 1 Cav with pinch makes grenadiers useless and I think he could be relying on grens. And we need to start working on forts and floating defense in the lake. By that time we can slave SoL in Goldfish and throw it there for better readiness. Overflow/some chops and gold we can spend to buy settler on the island, but this is after we get at least 2-3 workers there.

Returning to Gaspar.

At T289 we can attack Tigerwoods with:
- 8 well promoted cavs
- 1 unpromoted cav but with full hp
- 1 injured cav (possibly with 3rd promo)
- 1 withdrawn cav (deadly wounded, but still usefull to cut roads, capture workers or empty cities)
- 2 grens or 1 gren + 1 rifle from hill on NW from the city(on T287 we can unload + move them)

What else will we have and where on T289. Lets aim to maximize the group can reach horses tile near Tigerwoods. In my estimation it is:
- 2 cat + treb
- 3 rifle
- 1 gren ( there is a chance he will return rifle in the forest then we will probably need to shot it out with this)

Not bad but I think we need to replace 1 cavalry with Machine gun. We have enough to take Tigerwoods, but further we can meet some resistance while moving forward and bombarding defenses. MG can demotivate Gaspar from attacking our stack or work against REM if he decides to hook his piece from our pie. So put MG in the galleon.

Btw Brick should make starting Gatling Guns as general units, so killing one would be announced in the game log.

Any questions about logistics? So Cav stacks attack on T289, while others will be on horses ready to move by roads to Lance Armstrong probably.

And take workers, he has not roaded land properly! We need to have at least 2 workers under the stack each time or even 4 for the case he pillages road or somebody else pillages.
