[Spoilers] Dreylin's short visit to a late Era

So if we leave a Galleon infront of Koi & Ducks, his Galleon would first have to win the <50% battle, but even then would likely have taken enough damage to make the attack on even a single unit in the city pretty low-odds and 2 Units a near certain loss. Although of course he likely has promos pending to improve that, but even then would he take the low-odds shot with the Galleon?

No, nothing happens to loaded units if the transport is hurt. 1 Galleon is enough to fix that breach.

1 double promoted infantry can stay, others I'd pull back, we will find them better death I hope.

Anyway, the root cause was building up to attack Donovan rather than consolidating our existing lands and concentrating on growing/teching. Indeed, what's done is done.
Steel instead of Bio could work. We would have done some drydocks and spam fleet, while teching Assemblies. The moment for industrializiation would come earlier but in this game at least. Not blaming anyone, just trying to find the root of the problem.

How about ignoring AssLine and going Railroad instead?

Huh; could have sworn they suffer some degree of damage if the transport is hit, but I guess not.

& Yeah, Bio was a mistake by that point - one of those "committed to a route & not reactive enough to change" moments. Not sure it's worth deconstructing much further through all the what-ifs; will be interesting to see what Scooter's goals were before we attacked Donovan and he shut down teching. I'd put REM in the driver's seat right now, but there's a lot of game left here and someone like pindicator could rise a surprise with his (presumed) Combustion strategy.

It's a bit more expensive, but way better. We could push further to Combustion and horrify everything with common cavalries.

Stacked Goats & Geese as needed/possible and abandoned Silkmoths and Hedgehogs. Landed 9/15 Cavs from the main group on the Deer and lined up Workers to road.

Just a few thoughts.

Scooter's navy is promoted so it is vulnerable to airships. REM keeps promotions on his forces so it is almost senseless to bombard them.

If we want to survive we need to quarell REM and Scooter. May be we need to give up DZ's land and the most part of Gaspar's. Right now REM even helps scooter with airships (in heghehogs).

Also REM sees all our cities from espionage, while scooter keeps 42/43 ratio on us and doesnt have air support. So if anything can work it can work against scooter. May be we should get steel, whip some cannons and make scooter regret about his campaign.

I pulled 4 Airships into Llamas from a variety of spots around Donovanland; that should give us a good supply to keep pounding his fleet and any landed units. The remainder are mostly providing visibility, but also keeping Donovan from doing anything silly like trying to take back Alpacas yet.

In 2-3t we'll have Galleons in range to evacuate everything from Honey Bees, then can pull out of Alpacas the following turn. In the meantime we'll get a couple of Infantry out of each. That's probably all the time we'll have before Scooter decides to send parts of his fleet that way.

Steel is <2t of research, and as of next turn we'll have enough gold to support that - I didn't upgrade anything this turn because there didn't seem to be any value to it - everything either needed to move, or was fully Fortified and in range of an attack.

Golden Age will also come in to play next turn unless we see a good reason to delay.

Turn rolled after I'd gone to bed so I've not looked in game yet, but CivStats says only one city fell to Scooter and based on size that was Hedgehogs - so we successfully defended the Interlands for a turn at least! Lots of potential moves he could have made, so speculation's fairly useless until we can see.

REM took Silkmoths and we'll have to see whether he's chasing at our heals or pausing for consolidation - at least that puts both or our opponents in the same sphere, though I expect Scooter will leave Cats to REM and push on to Geese.

On another note, I'm heading off on vacation in 2wks time, and while they say there'll be internet at the places we're staying, that's never reliable and there will be a few travel days where I won't e able to play. Of course we're settling in to playing a turn every 2 days, and in 2wks time we may be on 5min turns anyway, but I might need occaissional cover.
