In the U.S. era of Donald Trump politics, please no retort names like 'racist' or 'xenophobia' frown ... This is a escape to fantasy game

Many good alternate names have been shared.

Along that line, how about zealotry? or zeal?
These names do not give even slightest hint why the taxation income is increased. Even Inquisitor is better variant because historically Catholic Inquisition was actively involved in the expropriation of the property so it provides some plausible explanation for both effects of this retort. However, I agree with Tiltowait that for the retort that is not affecting the religious buildings it may be not the best name.

Regarding overlord/inquisitor retort...

If it were me, I'd keep it simple.

Marauder, Raider, Ravager, Vandal, Bandit-Lord, etc.

Implies a raid, slash, and burn foreign policy. Enemies are plundered, their assets added to the imperial economy. No need to get into the specifics of exactly what type of "assets" are involved here. This is a fantasy game, after all, not a historical one.

Another idea...

The wizard has to raze all cities, not just those of his starting race. Increase the economy bonus to include food or mana, or raise the gold bonus from double to triple to compensate.

Yes, this would be even better name.

I would call this retort "Racist".

Yes that would be the most accurate name but also not a word I would like to see in the game.

Fantasy games are games with wars between races, but ok. "Destroyer"?

From an historical point of view: The human right of property was denied in the third german empire for jews and others, the income of the empire increased. New idea: "Destroyer" wink

A zealot would have no problem being taxed 100% if he knew his leaders were exterminating his enemies.
I still find my favorite idea to be Hive Mind or Hive or something along those lines, because it's a bonus most well suited to the insectoid klackons.
I would rather the term not be religious or bigoted that's why I've been helping brainstorm, even if my ideas aren't the best smile

Raider may create some confusion due to the existence of raiders in the game, but I think that Marauder and Bandit-Lord are normal names. Still, in my opinion Slave Mastery sounds cooler.

In the first half of the 20th century in USA still existed institutionalized racism, but this has not contributed anything to the US economy. Racism is way too broad concept to link it to some specific economic consequences. And Destroyer also will not provide any explanation for the increase in income.

Then Zealot should decrease the unrest, not directly increase the income.
I think that Hive Mind in principle can work, after all it may imply that this retort grants to the wizard the power to unite his main race, whatever it is, into one hive mind. However, in such case it is not very clear why it will work only for one race, instead of forcing all conquered races to join the hive mind.

In fiction it's pretty typical for hive mind's to be limited to their own race. It's fictional, there's no real need for it to make biological sense.

so ... this happened to an opponent wizard on hard difficulty - a single town and never expanding despite having triremes and settlers around (year 1410 or turn ~120)

I've seen that happen before with 2or3 cities and never expanding until 1412-1415 ish. It seems somewhat rare though.

Maybe they just haven't yet selected a target continent to move to, it happens randomly. Did they finish building the ship wright's guild recently? If yes they might have just started loading them now. I hope it's not wraithform on the ships bugging the AI. Can I have the save?

My other guess would be a tower under one of those units, causing the AI to send their stuff to the other plane instead.
