So may be we shall just be happy with donovan's city and need to push 1 circle of cannons to finish him and get rid of Glitch mode finally
[Spoilers] Dreylin's short visit to a late Era

Yeah, I think we whip Factories, overflow into a round of troops from the Core & SW (Cannon from nearby cities & Cavs from GP/Rabbits/Llamas), then Power Plants. We probably need to recall some of the Cavs & Inf that are currently heading East - I don't think we can pull anything more out of Honey Bees or risk REM coming to hit it; similarly Alpacas and Donovan.
Scooter taking S19 is not ideal, but it will open our Culture out over that Fort and let us sail a fleet down and support a hit at Glitch Mode ... not that we have much of a fleet in the area, so maybe we need an SotL out of HB to support. I slipped an Airship into one of BGN's island cities to give us a better view on this region ... in much the same way that REM has been using Scooter's cities. I was almost thinking of asking Scooter for OB to do the same / snipe at REM's, but I don't think we want that until we've finished Donovan off. Most of the Fleet that we had in the Interlands to counter Scooter is heading NE and can be Forted through into the Eastern Sea if we want to oppose REM there. He has a lot of injured ships, so it might be a good opportunity to push him back and at least keep him honest on that island. Oh, and speaking of islands, we need to see if we can get a Settler onto the island next to Goats - where Scooter razed the city - before he claims the spot. We lost 2/3 Slivers in the last few turns and our third is being traded to pindicator for his Sugar - so we need to get a second if we want to continue that trade. Last turn I canceled our original Copper-5gpt trade with him and re-offered for 15gpt. With the Silver out of action for a while, I doubt we can give up the Nationhood happy even if we're not really Drafting at the moment, although the Bureau hammers would be welcome to raise Goats' Factory/Power. Maybe we don't need to push for the Golden Age right away and can hold until after we've cleaned out Donovan? Question about OrgRel mechanics - if we whip a building while in OrgRel, the hammers are converted and stored at the time of the whip, right? So if we revolt out afterwards, we get the overflow held through to the next build with the OrgRel bonus included? So if we go into OrgRel this turn, we might want to plan to be whipping our Power Plants at the end of the 5t cycle before switching into (?) Free Rel for a research boost? We lost most of our non-Religion cities, but can make a Missionary push this round as well for Donovanland. If you could play this turn, I think that would be best. Right now I don't see any reason why I couldn't play the turn tonight, but I've also said that the last few days.... Better to guarantee getting us moving again than risk another day of delay, I think.
Correct, that's how to make magic hammers in OR, PS, Bureau, etc...
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.
I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.
I am finally at home, not sure that it is good idea for me to make turn.
But anyway, what do you think about this schema: We can have both settler and GA hidden in ships, so it wont look very suspicious for him. Though I believe he will have more than just 2 units there. Also havent you noticed that there are too many cavalries in Glitch mode?
Would the Artist bomb really make that much of a dent in the established Culture of his city? Everything I've been reading recently has implied that GArtists are pretty ineffective in that sort of scenario, but I guess we'd just need to flip the Silks to have Cav access to the city.
Glitch has had 6Cavs in it since he took it; I haven't noticed him adding any, but if there are more then we do need to be careful. If you're not comfortable taking the turn, that's fine; I still don't see any reason I shouldn't be able to play it myself this evening. There's a section on "Cultural Mechanics Disassembled" that discusses "plot culture", which is what you'd be impacting by a GA bomb: http://www.civfanatics.com/book/export/html/28
Thanks Cyneheard, that was a useful read - particularly the part about having the Culture slider set at 100% for the point of the bomb to maximise the additional output from the city!
t326 -
Scooter got Railroad this turn, so we have 10t before he attacks us with Destroyers... Turns out we have 10 Galleons in the vicinity, so have lots of flexibility with what we can land and where/when: I tentatively penciled in an initial landing on t329, with follow-up on t330 and capture on t331, but might be able to have a turn off that if we're willing to land fewer units the first turn. Will see next turn what can be done. I saw that you'd queued up a bunch of Trebs to upgrade to Cannon, excellent plan! I added another couple and tweaked Chickens' tiles to ensure it completed in 1t. I also decided to postpone the OrgRel switch so that they come out as 2-promo: Running a touch on the slider to keep 2 cities happy, but also to trickle a bit of culture into a few places to help borders. I saw that REM has popped Glitch's borders, but he doesn't have the Workers in range to do a quick road to attack HB with his Cavs. I kept up the aerial bombardment to steer him away from that. His Airships are out of the area anyway, so I'll not feel threatened until those pop back as well. I have a feeling you might have read the vanilla version - it got changed for BTS, making bombs weaker and existing culture output irrelevant. As Wetbandit said in our PB31 thread (no spoilers here): wetbandit Wrote:And the mechanics for post-BTS bombs, since everything posted on civfanatics is correct (especially the wisdom of attacko), are in this link.
