[Spoilers] Dreylin's short visit to a late Era

Hmmm, thanks OH ... I think I preferred the previous version! lol

t327 -

An interesting development across the turn roll:

Scooter has the same deal, except for Wheat.

Open Borders could be a problems for us with REM in the South, except he's pulled back a chunk of his force:

And reinforced Percy. Those Cavs are still in range of ZO, but not of Honey Bees - and he still has no Airships over here, since they are all in the cities that Scooter took from us! rant

We are at approximate unit parity over here, though we don't have the Air Force. I'm still stacking units on defense, but the real intent is to keep him focused over here while we plan for the landing at ZO:

Previous tentative timeline has been advanced and we'll be landing 6 Galleons next turn and up to 8 the following. He's building Cannon now instead of adding to Inf.

Switched to OrgRel, but stayed in Nationhood as exitin would have sent several cities into revolt. Builds are on Factories:

I also made Scooter an offer:

I really want to dislodge/kill off REM's Airships, even if I have to bribe Scooter to do so.

REM's peace with Donovan is not good for us. May be we need just to give up DZ's cities back? So scooter will have borders with confident leader REM and we switch roles with him?

I do not see how can we save those lands and use them effectively without having our own core under strike. We do not need just factories but plants and drydocks also.

Give Donovan back his cities? eek

TBH I'm against that because it's not really fair to Donovan, we've crippled him and there's no way for him to regain competitivity, so handing him back some cities now is just sticking a thumb in his eye and forcing him to play another dozen turns minimum.

Actually, what I'm wondering right now is whether we can take ZO and hit Glitch on the same turn - using the Trebs & Cannon and only a minimum of Airships for collateral and then relying more on Infs for cleanup to preserve Cavs. He only has 5 real units in Glitch; with Airship bombardments, Frigates through the Fort, and the Cavs currently in HB, we probably would only need ~5 Cavs from the main force to take/burn the city before the borders pop back.

Or if we land the Artist in Alpacas instead of on the attack tile, we could bomb Glitch instead of ZO and push on to Athanor. (don't like this option much though; would prefer to just burn Glitch, I think.

Are city trades even allowed?

Oh for sure not direct trades, sorry for the confusion. Really just considering pulling troops out and letting him walk in, which is easy for Alpacas, but Honey Bees could well end up in REM's hands - which cements the Scooter/REM border issue that OT4E is suggesting.

What is the possible timeframe for an attack you see? May be we have 2-3 turns to organize it, but what will be there? 15 infantires with CGx2-3? 5 cannons is hardly enough to hurt them plenty and we wont be able to bring them down to 16/20 with airships.

So I am not suggesting anything, I just want to pull your attention that every turn is on the account and if you want to let it be we'd better not wait untill scooter puts his infantries in ZO or bring his 20 airships around to bombard our forces.

Attack plan for ZO is:

t327 (this turn): prep
t328 (next turn): land 18 units (2 Treb, 2 Cannon, ~2Cav, ~12 Inf)
t329: bombard, bring in extra Airships, land at least 17Cavs, 3 Cannon, Gren, GArt(?), 2Worker & probably a few extra Inf/Rifles.
t330: capture city

Very Worst Case, Donovan has 13 Inf & 2Cannon in the city; but he produced a Cannon this turn and hasn't whipped, so I doubt it'll be that many extra Inf. Likely he'll attack out with the Cannon next turn once we land the first half of the stack, so that's fewer units.

I'd be very disappointed if he did sign OB with REM, since REM has done nearly as much damage to him as we did, but if REM starts moving units in then yeah we have to fall back to a plan B.

Go in and take a look; Donovan has played, but REM & Scooter have not.

Well, turns out scooter offered back the OB & Incense-Gems trade in 2 parts. First the OB - which I managed to stuff up, and so have to offer back - and then the Happiness trade - which I managed to accept.

Looking back, it's probably a good thing if REM doesn't know we've concluded the OB trade before he plays. mischief Unfortunately I don't have anything positioned to take advantage next turn if he leaves his Airships in Dolphins.

Anyway, good news is that there's no OB deals signed after Donovan's turn.

Now I have no idea. rant

Literally no idea. shakehead

Well not any good ones. cry

An I'm feeling too distracted by the Referendum to concentrate on coming up with one, so I'm going to have to sleep on it. bang

Thats what I was talking about. We'd better give that up and be happy that they have at least 2 frontlines with scooter and I believe they might be not happy with everyone at least no longer be such a good friends.
