greenline gets rushed and eliminated on turn whatever: Huyana Capac of Mali

So I managed to get the JewChrisIslam hydra... in a MP game! How often do you see that happening?

Pretty often, actually.

Awesome thread, broseph, what's this game's deal?

4 player quick BtS'emup. I misplayed horribly because I picked FIN/IND and then never made a coherent plan to grab key wonders. I would have been much better off picking Mansa.

Right now my position is still fairly competitive but Sian is rocketing up in power so I feel like he's going to kill my chances of keeping up in tech even if he doesn't invade. And the best he can attack me with is knights even though I have pikes and castles in all my border cities. Lame rolleye

HC is terribad, always. Worst Fin leader. yup

I was more curious about your feelings about the game as a whole; who's doing unto whom?

For the most part it's been pretty passive actually. The only war was me picking off a scouting warrior of Sian's that was too close to home. Jowy and Sian both settled aggresively towards me but not so much that I ended up with too little land to compete.

The biggest change was that last turn, I found a huge stack of knights on my border with Sian. This put me in a really bad mood since it seemed like he wanted to drag us both into an unproductive war with equal tech and population, but I guess my scout spooked him because he moved his units out of striking range, which let me add in enough extra pikes/knights to hold the city. Neat! dancing Now I can go back to spamming AP temples in peace.

(for some reason Sian's economy has been pretty crap despite having MoM+Colossus alright Not enough infra? I've been pretty aggressive about pushing libraries/markets/courthouses in all my cities, to the point where I actually have research visibility on Jowy somehow)

Now with the way I set this map up, I would think the colossus used correctly would be the most powerful wonder here. Especially as Astro isn't really needed.

Hello from the apocalyptic future-past! I love your naming theme and MS Paint supplemental material, and I'm curious to see how things progress. Also, nice Abrahamic trio you've got going on in here smile

Agree that Colossus is powerful, but I don't think you can get away with skipping astro forever. There are enough good coastal city spots on the map that trying to defend them all with just caravels and land units won't work imo.

Ecco the Dolphin seemed fitting since my chances of winning this game were about as high as me beating it without savestates.

Anyway, last turn I sent a copper for copper trade to picklepickl plus marble to sweeten the deal (not that he needs it since he just finished Taj. Then again I don't need it either since I don't have Aesthetics). Sian is acting warbly so I would like someone to split his land with and picklepickl not being my direct neighbor seems like a good choice.

Hey Greenline! Just wanted to say good luck. Our game has finished now and I finished second from the same starting position as you. I also had no luck on getting either gems site but did manage to get the whole center region (I settled on the marble with lots of skirmishers). You seem in a decent position, so good luck in getting top two and I will hopefully see you in the next game.

Really? Did you settle way out for it, or did everyone else just not prioritize it well? In this game everyone settled there at pretty much the same time.

Anyway, the big news of the turn is that the game is heating up: hammer hammer hammer

Sian decided to hit picklepickl with his big old knight stack to take the edge out of his Taj GA- so he's gone from spite war vs 2nd place to spite war vs tech leader. It's not great timing for me, though; I wanted to tech to Cuirs or Cavs or Rifles before going on the offensive. Right now I have knights that can't do a whole lot if Sian whips out pikes to stop me from advancing into his core.

His border cities, on the other hand... hammer

Jowy might also be looking to pile in... or that's just a reserve guard.

Here's Sian's least defended border city, the other one has an extra LB or something. I just moved in four workers that can road allowing me to hit both cities next turn (also workers are pretty much worthless for now since I have one unimproved tile in my land.

Here's what I can attack with:

I don't think it will be enough to hold anything, but razing these cultural irritants would be pretty nice for Hard Water... I would get back either the gems or the horse tile nod . Next turn will be fun
