WW #43 - The Asha'man

Okay, actually, Fenn makes some good points in this post here, although he remains pretty non-committal about all of it aside from jumping on my wagon.

Quote:Dunno about novice. Feels like he's been skating by since the Psilly wagon picked up speed. Perhaps that's uncharitable.

A lot of hedging from Fenn here, but I agree with the gist of his assessment of novice. Definitely skating by. He never explained why he felt that MAYBE (hedging) I was sending out WW42 "too scum to be scum" vibes. Please elucidate, my friend, and you can help me avoid an un-earned lynch! And then re: Lewwyn, novice said,

Quote:Misreading not only his alignment but the contents of his posts in general. My comment was meant to encourage you to take a second look at your interactions with Lewwyn, and I felt that as town you should be able to see where you're misreading him. Instead you're just trying to whip up more support for lynching him, without looking back.

OK, help me out. How am I misreading his alignment and post contents? Plz hlp.

I agree with this Fenn observation here:

Quote:This comment from Adrien about Meiz I don't like. It's as if he's basing his suspicion of Meiz off of him not specifically denying wanting to play SK. That's a flimsy meta argument if I ever saw one.

Yes, I seem to recall Zak (if my memory is correct) hounding Winston last game over a very similar thing: failing to be telepathic and specifically deny playing SK before anyone had even asked...as if, any time someone mentions an SK role, you have to immediately make the sign of the cross and mutter "may the devil take the SKs" under your breath to avoid suspicion of being an SK.

Fenn makes a good point against Dp101. I must have missed that on my first pass-through. First of all, it doesn't make sense to order your choices as town-mafia-town because town/mafia is clearly the most important consideration and town-town-mafia makes much more sense (I've been over this with regards to another player already). Second, it's a good point that hider at least gives you the option of using a night power, whereas the odds of mafia lover being able to do anything are low (and in the case that you do have a lover pair, it gets very tricky). I could see mafia lover being the lesser discarded mafia role that Dp101 didn't want (where he wanted to make sure to at least get some sort of mafia role).

I know that earlier I said that Dp101 had town leanings for me, but now Dp101 is officially on my suspicion list.

What do you think I'm doing, hotshot?

AdrienIer, just because it looks like he has the best chance of hanging.

I wasn't going to break out these meta-considerations until I felt desperate, but I'm pretty desperate now with only half an hour to go until I get lynched, so consider this:

1. Compare how defensive Lewwyn was with only 1 or 2 votes on him (saying that people like me and Jkaen were out to get him), even while I was sitting at 5 or 6 votes. Lewwyn was in no immediate danger. Why was he so defensive?

2. Why would I as scum be harping for a mislynch of Lewwyn when it clearly wasn't going to happen by this morning, or at the very least be an easy coast-to-victory that would gain momentum from others enough to where I could later disclaim sole responsibility for it? How would my play make strategic sense as scum?

3. People on this forum already seem to have a tendency to interpret my style as "perma-scum." Do you really think that I would choose to be scum in this game?

4. Since I am about to die anyways, I will tell you all that I am a roleblocker. Could be useful, folks! Scum probably won't even want to nightkill me if the lynch vote ends up close, thinking that I can still be easily lynched later like last game, so I might even get to use it. (Although if AdrienIer gets lynched instead and turns up scum, that would count as a slight boost to my cred, making me a better nightkill target especially now that I've revealed my role, although that might also give me enough credibility to get some protection).

Also, I don't trust Meiz coming in at the last minute saying that I sound like paranoid townie. I wasn't even trusting of Lewwyn when he did that in WW42 (although I should have been a bit more), but most importantly, Lewwyn did it with more than 12 hours left if I recall correctly. At the time, I didn't think that there was much of a shot of turning around the lynch momentum on me, so I viewed Lewwyn's move as a bit of a convenient ploy for cheap town cred afterwards, but 12 hours is certainly longer to get momentum turned around than 30 minutes! Thanks Meiz! nod

I agree with the scum unease of sitting too long on a target. AdrienIer's excursion to another suspect came across as pretty pointless, even though he took pains to explain why it was useful. As if he's just keeping himself busy until the deadline arrives.

Still really unsure though. I'm having second thoughts even as I'm switching my vote.

If you think AdrienIer going to another target was pointless, then that implies that you think I'm a much better scum case than AdrienIer's other target, right Zak? Then, why don't you still just lynch me?

30 minutes is amazingly long time to swing votes on this forum. So you're welcome Psilly yup
