[Spoilers / Team Thread] Fenn, CH & Bob take on AWBW

It's abundantly obvious that you haven't cared about this game for a long while, given that you can't be bothered to spend even 10 min. every other day playing your turns. I'm not surprised though that you'd rather abandon the game now that things aren't going entirely your way, that'd certainly represent the AWBW ethos.
Honestly, that makes me angry--we certainly haven't been kind to Nyvelion in this private thread (though that picture filename certainly doesn't help rolleye ), but nothing like that. I seriously think you should send something to Bamboozled and Xmo5, tell them you saw that and say something.

In better news, I think I might be able to break through to the HQ and Victory March-capture it, but it requires a lot of work and feels very risky. Notably, it means I have to use my Rocket on the HQ Infantry rather than relevant units. Here's what a "normal" plan would look like:
Code:
Rocket kill 5 HP Tank
Full HP Tank attack 9HP Artillery
3HP Artillery attack (kill?) Artillery
Full HP Artillery attack full HP Tank
9HP Tank attack (kill?) Tank
Various Infantry attacks
The risky "HQ Capture this turn" plan has to be this:
Code:
Activate SCOP
9HP Tank+3HP Artillery kill 5 HP Tank
Northern AA+Full HP Artillery kill 9HP (mountain) Infantry
Full HP Infantry (currently capturing)+Full HP Tank kill Plains Infantry (1N of HQ)
Rocket+Eastern AA kill HQ Infantry
Capture HQ with 7HP Infantry
That actually sounds more likely than I thought at first--I didn't realize I could attack the HQ Infantry with an AA. I still need to damage-calc these numbers, but it seems doable.

Edit: Here's the damage calculator, with no luck involved:
Code:
5 HP (plains) Tank:
3 HP Artillery: 19%, -> 4 HP
9 HP Tank: 42% -> Dead

9 HP (mountain) Infantry:
10 HP Artillery: 53% -> 4 HP
10 HP AA: 77% -> Dead

10 HP (plains) Infantry:
10 HP Tank: 60% -> 4 HP
10 HP Infantry: 85% -> Dead

10 HP (HQ) Infantry:
10 HP Rocket: 52% -> 5 HP
10 HP AA: 73% -> Dead
So yeah, that looks good, and feels like it should work. There's even some wiggle room I can do at the margins (notably attacking the Tank with the 10 HP Tank and attacking the plains Infantry with an Infantry instead). So yeah, Nyvelion's probably taken her last turn--now just end turn Fenn so I can implement this plan! tongue

Yeah, I gave the picture an insulting filename. I was also angry.

Bamboozled sent me a message a few hours ago apologizing for Nyvelion. I don't see any need for further communication from our team. Let's just do our best to win this game. I'd sim the Nyvelion attack to make sure you can take the HQ; take all the time you need for testing.

One a side note, it looks like "someone" decided to give all of my design maps the lowest rating possible rolleye

I just edited in the sims and it looks good, assuming I didn't screw up anything. I do wonder what the best order for the attacks is--obviously if everything is fine it doesn't matter, but I don't know what way lets me back out if something goes horribly wrong (especially since I'm eating an Ex Machina if Nyvelion survives another turn). Then again, I think I have to commit all the way if I do--the closest fight appears to be the first one (and thus needs the generic boost--the generic +10/+10 exists in AWBW, since it's primarily based off the AW2 engine, right?), and other than the indirects I have to do everything more-or-less in order.

Their charts say Sami does indeed get a +10% boost for all vehicles during her SCOP, yeah. Obv. gotta deploy your power at the very start of the turn.

Exciting times. Good luck!

CH, if you stream the attack I'd watch.

I could, but honestly, the attack is pretty deterministic. Each attack has a certain percentage it does based on unit matchups, which is then modified based on CO stats and terrain defense--this is the percentage I'm using in the above calculation. On top of that, each attack can do an extra 0%-10%, which is randomly determined. As such, other than a couple of COs that can have negative luck (Sonja, Flak, Jugger), there's a baseline the attack is guaranteed to do.

Alright, played my turn. If the numbers look good, I say go for the kill - I can't hold out too much longer here.

Well, it's going to be weird playing more than one turncycle a week now.

So, now what? I just try to use my production advantage to steamroll Bamboozled, or at least make him take the pressure off Fenn? Am I still trying to produce from every base (like I did this turn), or do I want to concentrate my funds into a couple stronger units? (bigger tanks, a Bomber, even a Battleship)

CH, MVP! bow

Yeah, I'd just throw everything at Bamboozled, you can't reach Xmo and have access to AB's poorly-defended core. I'll help clear the horde around Fenn while tying up Xmo, then we'll just overwhelm them with numbers.

Don't build a Battleship- Javier will defend at +30% against your shots (Com Tower + innate bonus), and won't take any damage at all under his SCOP. Bombers will mess him up though, I don't think he can really afford a Fighter, so he'll be forced to counter with AA which you can cost-effectively kill with cheaper Tanks.

I think their only hope is to try to take Fenn's Com Tower and HQ in the next couple turns before you can put pressure on Bamb, so I'll do everything I can to keep Fenn healthy.

Great news! dance

Might as well just gun for Bamboozle now, all of his forces are tied up with me and Bob.

I'd still produce something from each base, even if it's just Infantry, but you can definitely start putting money into Bombers and the like
