Here's the introductory text; clearly you can all have different motivations for being here.
-Dark rumors abound! In each of the last three great storms, a ship has sunk and been lost with all hands; but this last ship washed ashore showing a ragged bite right next to its keel. Flickering lights are seen in the coastal hills near the ancient warding stones. Dark shapes are spoken of, too, but no locals dare venture near those cursed haunts to see what is near, not now in the long night of winter. An elf Watcher asked about the mystery, but seemed just coldly curious, not very prone to help matters. The mayor's son said he would investigate, but he never returned... In a one shot, best to start out at the action, so you are all approaching the mysterious hills.

How soon do we need to have our characters all rolled up and decided on?

Perhaps you are a local mystified by the odd happenings or helping the distraught mayor. Perhaps a traveler, likewise, or a more mercenary soul looking for the ships' treasures. Maybe a ship owner asked you to look in to the latest ship's loss.

I'm reading through those pregens, and I'm really confused. When you said core classes, I assumed that by core you meant the ones in the core rulebook, but I don't recognise any of the classes in those pregens. Am I missing something? Also, those character sheets look very odd to me, are those different because they are pregens? Edit: nevermind to the first part, I looked up pathfinder classes and learnt what a base class is. Is the internet the only way to find how their progression works?

I've decided on what character I want to build, how do you want it to work ? I haven't found a good way to fill a character sheet online, do I download the sheet from somewhere then fill it up and scan it to you ?
When I used to do play by post I used the online character sheets such as this:
