I'm not really sure on sending one to each vs. together. Perhaps if you were to send one to each, but make them slightly different (perhaps propose an NAP with DIM, not because I think they will attack us but just as a nice gesture). I don't really know though, your call.
By the way, you could also complement the Ottomans on founding their third city, if we haven't already done so.

By the way, I logged in the game. I think we should set research to 50%, as I am pretty sure that will then allow us to complete myst in 2 turns at 100% afterwards.
Are you planning to move that warrior near Boring SE?
EDIT: Haha, I just screwed up cardinal directions.

Okay. I will send a slightly different one to each. To A4, I will propose an extension of the existing NAP to T85 - a 20 turn extension. To keep things simple, I will propose a roughly 30 turn NAP to DIM, to T85.
By the way, did you notice Ruff's post in the IT thread? Things are getting nasty out there, and I'm relieved that we are planting horse city soon.
oooo, a thought occurs to me: Pendleton or St. Paul as the name of the next city, both famous for their rodeos. Probably St. Paul since it falls in line with the "big city in other state" theme you mentioned?
How distracting. Anyway... the new settler's escort will be meeting Krill quicker than Lakewood's MP could, so that solves that. However, I took your advice of exploring with Lakewood's MP. He will be heading north to eventually meet some of our northern neighbors, since that seems to be a priority. With Centralia's warrior finishing in 2, Lakewood should only be empty for 5 turns max, and can always whip a warrior if needed. Speaking of whipping, both Boring and Lakewood whipped their granaries this turn. Again, I see the power of Expansive.
Okay, time to send the notes.

Okay, I will crunch numbers on research. The warrior near Boring... SE.. yes.. that is, down-right in non-cardinal directions haha

Quote:Good evening,
Team Nice Shot hopes this note finds your team well. We have discussed the tech trading alliance and we see it in the best interest of all parties for our team to participate. As a further gesture of goodwill, our team would like to extend our current NAP by 20 more turns, to an even T85.
All of that having been said, we do have more questions about the TT alliance. We understand that we may need to discuss with more members before we get a clearer picture, and are working on that, but want to build strong ties with you and DIM while we have the opportunity. So our questions:
*Post-alphabet, who is researching what?
*Does this alliance include any type of mutual NAP/defensive pact/ or is it just a tech trading alliance? (especially important with the DOW against Ruff)
*Are we making any effort at this point to even out beakers?
Also, we should be able to meet Krill in 2-3 turns depending on exact timing. It sounds like we will meet England around the same time. The hope is that by T62, we will have made the full round of contacts so that alliance communication can be easier. We are devoting as many resources as possible to this effort.
Talk to you soon,
Mr. Nice Guy of Team Nice Shot
A similar version sent to DIM.

If you haven't sent them yet (it's fine if you have, btw), I might ask at least one of them to point us in the right direction to the members of the alliance we haven't met (ie are they to our N, W, E, etc.) If you have sent them, don't worry and we can ask them at a slightly later date.

Sorry, already sent.
I will make a point to ask within the next turn for specific directions to the others. That's Aztec, Portugal, and India off the top of my head. In the future, I will post a draft of important correspondences here prior to sending.
In other diplomatic news, when I e-mailed Swiss, I asked if they were aware of any foreign events, basically fishing to find out if there was a TT alliance. At the time, we did not yet know about this alliance. So the question is... do we want an NAP with them, and if so how long? Obviously as along as our alliance lasts, they are the enemy, but we aren't going to be war-ready any time in the next 20 turns. So I lean toward yes, and at least 20 turns. What do you think?

Don't worry about having sent them, it really isn't a huge deal. It actually could work to our advantage, as we have another email idea ready to stay in frequent contact
I'd be open to an NAP with Swiss. As you said, we won't be ready to attack for at least 20 turns. Even if we were, I would point out that it looks like there is a lot of empty land to our south (I believe Swiss is south, correct?). It's not like either of us is really going to go to war until that land starts getting filled up.

Quote:Dear Pacal
Well the diplomatic picture has certainly changed with Inca declaring war on Azteca!
We're on the same horizontal strip as Babylon, Byzantium & Maya, have Inca and Sumeria to the south, and you and England to the north.
We're in discussions about tech trades, and we assume you are too, but would you be interested in trading techs with us?
Best Wishes
Emperor Capac
Next step.. tell him 'no thanks, we have 7 partners in tech trading' and 'would you like to sign an NAP?' ...
The good information here is that we have Babylon, Byzantium, and Maya all generally to our south. I say it's good because we don't border Rome, haha. But the bad news is that we seem to be a bit of a buffer zone between the northern and (potential) southern alliances.

I disagree with telling him explicitly about the alliance. My sense at least is that the alliance is supposed to stay confidential for now. I might instead just stall and say we would be interested in hearing about tech trading opprotunities.
