Lucas acknowledges they have little idea of how to open the second lock
What about the first lock, do people think we are on the right lines there? he asks
I suppose that it is the right way to go, but following my unsuccessful attempt with the other lock I would rather not try my luck again.
Lucas with great care tries the code roygbiv in the first chest, trying as much as possible to enter the code in such a way to avoid any traps should he be wrong.
Lucas attempts to enter that pin sequence but he cannot remove the V, O, or G to move them elsewhere.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out.
I suggest someone try rvoiybg, as it fits and is a rearrangement of roygbiv (first-last-second first-second last etc...)
Lucas looks at the lock in frustration, upon hearing Anya's suggestion he nods "Clearly the fact its a twisted prism must be affecting the answer, you are right that that could be the answer, but I fear there may be other interpretations we are missing. Still I see no better idea"
With the Lucas tentatively enters the code of R.V.O.I.Y.B.G
With a click, the chest's lock opens.
Within the chest there are: Six bolts of silk A flask of alchemist's fire 4 vials of reddish fluid labeled as Dragon's Blood (1d4 hit point healing each) A masterwork dagger An ornate silver spittoon Five sealed envelopes addressed to various personages in Mingo Bay, the port where the ship had been heading 35gp, 48sp, and 232cp
