RBP3 [SPOILERS] Team Nice Shot - Pacal of Carthage

I logged in game, and the turn rolled over while I was in. I got a couple of pop-ups for city builds, and just set them on warrior, although I'm not entirely sure what we should build in our cities at this point.

The real reason I am posting this is just to give you a little heads up on our worker actions near Lakewood. We finished the cottage this turn, and I assume want to go cottage that other grassland riverside that is now N-NW of our workers. I realized though that it will take just as many worker turns to get there for us to road the tile the workers are on first and then move as to just move now. Therefore, I went ahead and roaded this turn. Next turn, have Jim complete the road before moving Warren.

Are you planning to move Jordan or have him keep healing?

Oh, and we met Krill in game.

Having a look around and sending greeting/direction emails to Krill and CHASM. Will update in a little bit. Empire management looks good. Would prefer to use Warren to road toward St. Paul. Getting two road segments done in the next couple turns will allow us to settle it on T64 or T65, which should then get us access to horses by T70 or so. Anyway, time to look closer...

Ok then, I'd say you should have Warren next turn move to cottage, and Jim the turn after continue roading. I'd like to get that cottage done sooner rather than later, as the city will be growing into it shortly.

After looking in game, that looks like it should be reasonable. Plan is to grow Lakewood to happy cap and then stagnate while working cottages+gold+eventually silver? That would make it strong enough to make us very valuable to our alliance right away.

CHASM to us:

Quote:Greetings to the leaders of Carthage,

We are the Lords of Avalon, rulers of mighty England. We greet you in peace, and as future partners in tech. Should our warrior head NW to meet our allies, particularly Egypt?

Us to CHASM:
Quote:Greetings to CHASM of England, at long last we meet you. It pleases us greatly that we have finally met, and especially that you are already aware that we have joined the tech trading group. That tells us word gets around fast, which is exactly what keeps an alliance strong.

In order to meet Egypt, I would recommend moving Richard the Lionhearted 5NW. That should have you meeting them on T61-T62, the fastest possible time according to our visibility. We just met them this turn, and will include in our greeting e-mail directions to meet you on that 5NW tile.

We have met Krill, A4, DIM, and you from the alliance, and have met Swiss to our south, but have obviously not mentioned the alliance to him. What contacts have you made?

As a gesture of immediate goodwill, our team would like to sign an NAP with your team. Would you find 25 turns to be a suitable starting point?

Us to Krill:

Quote:Greetings to our Egyptian brothers!

It is with great joy that our warrior Cassandra has met your warrior John Keel. We have been in touch with members of your tech trading alliance and want you to know that we are fully on board. As a gesture of initial good will, we offer two things:

First, we would like to offer an NAP between our two teams. How about 25 turns as an initial length?

Second, we would like to assist you in meeting England by the T62 BTTD (Big Tech Trade Date as one of our neighbors called it). We have just met England in the East, and have directed them to meet you in the north. Your warrior will have to take an unusual route to get there because of peaks... NE-NW-NE-E-E. That will keep him on the safest territory possible, as he is at 1.2 health now and we do not want to endanger your scouting unit.

Until later,

Proposed message to Swiss:

Quote:With this being a tech trading game, we agree that either you trade techs or will be left in the dust. Therefore, we can see that tech trading will be very useful. Unfortunately, we are quite a ways away from Alphabet, so cannot think too much about tech trading yet.

However, we would very much like to build positive diplomatic relations with our neighbors. In that light, we would like to propose an NAP between our nations. How about a 25 turn NAP to start, to last until T82?

Until later,

I only hope this does not come off as leading him on. I want to accomplish the following:

*Keep the TT alliance secret
*Not commit to anything but short-term peace
*Sound interested in future relations
*But not put ourselves in a position to burn his bridge when he is locked out of our group

What do you think?

In regards to the Swiss message, I'd perhaps suggest adding a sentence saying something like we are I interested in hearing any offers he has regarding tech trading, or something to that extent. If he winds up volunteering info about another alliance, well I have no objections.

Other than that, I think the diplo messages look great.

Okay, good.. I replaced the 'not thinking about tech trading' clause with "we are interested in hearing any ideas you have."

Sent the e-mail, also sent a note to DIM updating them on our status since they are playing such an active role in helping England and Egypt meet us. Time to call it a night... earlier day tomorrow than today.

Sounds perfect!

We seem to have gotten a ton of emails today.
