As Niall and Elizabeth clank down the path toward the horse, they remain oblivious to the grey hunter among the rocks below. Attracted by the distressed horse, a mountain lion was waiting in ambush above. The hungry animal gives a territorial scream and appears ready to pounce.
   
Elizabeth, Niall, and Anya, you are in combat. Lucas, you hear the distinctive scream carried in the wind and can hustle toward at least extreme longbow range in a few rounds; acrobatics check to run on the snowy/rocky ground.

Caught completely by surprise, Niall's first attack only rustles fur.

Lady Elizabeth looks up at the scream, but is momentarily paralyzed.

When it does eventually come around to her turn, she'll either heal someone if they've been gravely hurt, or draw her morningstar and try to hit the kitty-cat.

The mountain lion's astoundingly loud scream is followed by a terrifyingly swift pounce toward Niall. The desperate animal slashes forward at the magus, yielding fountains of blood.

Bite hitting AC=20, 4 damage. Claw 1 hitting AC=12, 6 damage. Claw 2 hitting AC=26, 3 damage. Grab attempt hits CMD=13. Yowza.

Anya sends her dagger towards the animal, hoping to loosen its grip on Niall. She also gives Windbreaker the attack signal

19 + 2 + 1 = 22. Crit confirm 12 + 2 + 1. Damage : 1, Crit damage (if it works, and if it's a reroll) : 4.

I'll let you do Windbreaker. Does he get a bonus for being in his natural element (mountains) ?

Lady Elizabeth hurries up to the melee, and quickly reaches a hand to Niall, infusing him with healing energy and getting her hand all bloody.

Dice are finally my friend!  7 + 1 = 8 restored hp!

Then she'll prepare (next turn) to draw her weapon and strike.

Assuming Niall can avoid taking *too* much damage between now and then, of course
