Notes from the infirmary:

It figures the one time I threw a grenade with perfect accuracy, it didn't kill the stupid alien. At least I got the next one! Not that it did Lewwyn any good....

Wanted to say something to Molach for saving my life with the medkit too. Like, all is forgiven for that previous clone and everything. Found out he didn't make it, so I wanted to visit his grave. Turns out there isn't any; his body was vaporized by high explosives. And I wasn't even the one who threw them!

It's all good though: I can always just tell his next clone!

Seem to be leading a charmed life so far, apart from the plasma that knocked me out and almost killed me. I even managed to shoot an alien instead of my teammates! Amazing! I can't wait to get back out there and help save the world some more!

...

...

Who am I kidding? I hope I get to be pampered in this infirmary until the aliens all go away!

I thought I would be too late to find a slot on the squad, but I guess you still have a couple open. Sign me up!

Did I live? Cause I see that I supposedly was revived, but it doesn't appear that I showed up in the second report. Was I just sitting in a corner for the rest of the mission?
Surprise! Turns out I'm a girl!

You didn't do much in the second half of the mission, no. I believe you checked the western strut, then followed Bobchillingworth up the side elevator. By the time you made it out the second floor hallways the last Floater was already dead. You won't be doing much for a while either:

Being blown up will do that to you I suppose. On the bright side, being wounded is a great way to avoid deadly missions, which is probably why you've survived so long.

There's always room for more - I can always rotate agents on and off the active roster, or send extras to another base.

Montezuma seems to be a very promising recruit. Is 36 HP unusually high for a rookie? Does HP even matter, if most wounds are fatal?

Belatedly reporting for service. Ready to get exploded/suffocated/shot by Molach in the line of duty.

Montezuma's 36 HP is a little bit above average. Health isn't terribly important, but it makes it more likely for an agent to be able to take a hit without dying: projectiles do between 0-200% of their rated power when they connect, so higher HP means more of the values in that range won't be instantly lethal. Better armor tends to be the deciding factor, however.

Fatal wounds are just something that happens when you take damage from gunfire or explosions; for each fatal wound a unit has they lose 1HP per turn; without a Medikit on hand they'll die unless the mission ends before they bleed out.

(I raided a second battleship with a team of unarmored unnamed rookies. Figured it was a bit silly to write about two Floater Battleship assaults in a row. Real report later today.)

EXCELLENT Entertainment recovered indeed! Especially since I didn't die! (Being still in the infirmary and all....)
