I logged in again since I forgot to check the log and good thing I did, cause look what we have here:
Good news is Zingara's borders will pop next turn (we founded on T55) so even though they probably aren't going attack, they can't anyway.
And yes, we are a paranoid bunch

Diplo update:
From NS:
Quote:Greetings A4!
It has been a while, and this week has seen a flurry of diplomatic activity for our team. We just want to give you a brief update tonight. To date, we have now met:
*England
*Egypt
*Mali
*HRE
*and Ottomans
from the Alliance.
We have also met Swiss from the south.
It looks like we will be contributing Maths to the alliance fund, due to complete around T69-T70.
We have seen 3 or 4 barb warriors wandering to date, but none have entered our borders yet.
That's about all that is new in the last couple turns. Hope all is going well for you guys,
Mr. Nice Guy of Team Nice Shot
So they will get maths earlier than we would have, which is good news (and expected).

It's good that you have sent an update so we will send an update your way too.
In addition to DIM, yourselves, Krill, India and Ruff we have also met the Inca recently. Does England have a unit nearby? If they intend to meet more people in the alliance, could you direct them N? (after they contact with Krill).
It's great news that you will be contributing math. We will be contributing IW with a current ETA of T72. I know that DIM are going HBR but I don't know what everyone else is going for. Do you know any more?
We have only seen 1 barb warrior so far, but I'm sure more will come.
Let's keep in touch.
Enough Talking!

Well we were going to send them something so not much lost there.
Ruff:
Quote:Hi Ruff
What's the war situation like? Are you holding up well?
Belit and Sancha (our 2nd chariot) are now both heading to your lands with ETA's of T62 and T64.
Our team would like to give you these chariots since we don't really want to DOW on the Inca and it minimizes mistakes between military generals.
Enough Talking!
WarriorKnight of A4
We discussed that we would gift Ruff the chariots since we want to avoid a DOW and Ruff could make less mistakes with them.
Krill:
Quote:Hi Krill
I see that you have managed to aquire writing recently and some other alliance members have OB with you. Would you like an OB agreement?
Do you know where Dantski is located? Valeria has been looking around for them while dodging barbs but hasn't found them yet. Maybe you can forward some directions or a screenshot onto them? Valeria is currently 8N and 3W of your northern sheep tile.
Also, what is everyone else in the alliance going for? Some of the members of our team would like to know who is going what and you are the one to ask about that.
Enough Talking!
WarriorKnight of A4
Yes, he has OB with all the others in the alliance we have met. Can't see anything wrong with an OB agreement with Krill. Also asked for some directions to Dantski which would be nice and might help us reach them by TTD.

T60 is up but I haven't done anything yet since some instructions from Krill for Valeria would be nice and I'm not going to mess with our worker schedule. Belit just moves NE/N I think (heading to Ruff) while Sancha heads NE/NE.
Also our new chariot needs to be renamed.

Good news. Make sure we always move 2W for now with Valeria.

OK the chariots are moved. I haven't touched the workers yet.
Belit moved N to Ruff.
Sancha also moved NW to Ruff but ended turn next to a lion. I don't see how we can lose that.
Valeria moved 2W like Krill said and we can see the edge of Portugal's border. The only problem is that we ended next to the bear that was nearby, a 3 vs 3.8 battle. We have odds but I don't know if they are that great.
Another alternative is to use Combat1 for insurance. We heal a bit and get +10% so we are more likely to win (obviously). I think it's worth it since this won't be Valeria's last battle with barbs (assuming we win of course). Insurance for contact with Portugal is worth it IMO.

Logged in to do the worker micro and spotted the bear as well. Had the same thoughts. I've applied Combat 1 so hopefully Valeria can pull through. It would have been nicer if we could have used the promo to heal as well, but I think safe is better than sorry.
In other news when I logged in the game showed my a diplo screen saying Krill Accepts OB, I clicked offer, which seemed to be the 'OK' button. This diplo screen is a bit weird looking. Anyone with MP experience want to let me know how this works?
I've also been looking at the HG plans, now that we've got an ETA of t70 for Maths. t70 is a couple of turns earlier than I expected, I was expecting an ETA of around t72. I can get us the HG on t77, but the last settler isn't in place until later that turn. I'm having a longer look at the worker micro, hoping to shave a turn off the settler move from Zingara to Pigs (we'll have to road the city tile, which sucks a bit). I can't see a way to get the settler out of Zingara with a single chop any faster than t74 and we don't have the spare workers to give us another one I think. One thing to note is I've had a bit of trouble with barbs in the test game, in one game barbs spawned a city near the pigs! Hopefully nothing like that happens in the real game. I think using the new chariot to fogbust over near the pigs once we've got silver settled will help reduce the chances of barbs interfering and border pops should help prevent them spawning too close for comfort.

I don't have pitboss experience, but since most players can't be in simultaneously, one player offers a deal, they log off, the other player logs in and accepts (or rejects). Right now, just make sure that we accept every deal from our alliance if/when it comes and make the deals with the other members. But don't accept any from the other alliance .
How is it weird looking? There is no animated image for a human but instead a chat box. You can leave a message when proposing a deal if you type it before sending it. Otherwise it's mostly the same.

Well, if having 6 cities means that barbs could be trouble and the 6th city might not make it, then only have 5 cities. I would much rather land the HG with only 5 cities instead of 6 with barbs pillaging our stuff.
From Ruff:
Quote:A4,
War is ok. Lost all my tile goodies last turn and the Inca have chased my workers away ... I am currently sending them to India (planning on attacking India and letting them capture them. Then, if I survive and they gift them back, I get 2 fast workers .
2 chariots will certainly let me catch the Inca off guard and gifting them seems like a good idea.
I'll give you an update on Inca positions when we get closer to T62.
Ruff
The fast worker plan is smart. Problem is that it is now T61 so how much closer can we get? Watch this space for T61 report.

Valeria lives!!!
Actual odds were 95% but the bear did a number on Valeria. We now have contact with Portugal.
Belit moved N but found that Ruff's borders had expanded. He moved NE to try to defog as much before we give it to him.
Sancha won without a scratch . Still heading to Ruff's land.
I didn't know what Nemedia is supposed to build but I put it on a chariot for now.
Why are we roading the forested hill near Nemedia? We are going to chop it now so there is no need to road it unless we plan to mine it in the near future. The road isn't on your roading plan either.
Also we didn't switch EP's and now have 44EP's on Krill . Switched to India but will have to chase Krill up on it. I'm sure he won't mind though.

Whoops, missed the EPs I'm sure it's not a big deal, but we should have checked.... oh well.
As for the micro I finally managed to get up to 6 cities and HG on t77. Micro is attached, chariot in Nemedia is the right build, I think it'll eventually be the chariot to go to DIM. For the moment it can hang around Nemedia as anti-barb. We should chase DIM up about when we should be expecting our extra worker too, although we only need it to hook Nemedia to the river before t76 (at least for the HG plan) It might also be worthwhile telling them we'll be settling our gold site around t75 since they asked us earlier about our plans for the site.
I think we'll be ok v barbs, but if they pop in awkward places then they can be troublesome. I doubt we'll be seeing many archer barbs so should be ok once we get a couple of axes up, it really just depends on how many of them appear, and that in part depends on whether anyone is fogbusting/scouting near our borders or not. We know there's a barb warrior to the south, although maybe Nice Shot's warrior will pick it off, and Sacha found one up north near the wheat I think, so there's already a couple to keep track of.
WRT to the HG plan, there's a handful of turns with spare worker actions, I've got most of them on roading, which is partly why we're roading the forest tile (although that also helps to get the Worker D over to Aquilonia to improve a mine before chopping the HG). We might have to watch the overflow from the Barracks->Hammam in Aquilonia as well, I think my test game matches it, but I'm not 100% on that, we don't need to worry about that for a few turns though.

Sent to Portugal:
Quote:Greetings Portugal!
After a long trek through barbarian infested lands, our chariot
Valeria has found your borders. And just in time too.
It is my understanding that your team, along with several other team
including ourselves, is part of a tech alliance. Yout team will be
providing sailing while we will be providing pottery when Krill gets
alphabet next turn. Is this correct?
Also can we get an OB agreement next turn? The reason is that we would
like Valeria to heal quickly, since he was forced to defend from a
bear last turn.
We look forward to a long period of peace between our civilizations.

P.S. Enough Talking! is our standard sign off message. See the attached picture
Nothing much there of significance, except an OB would really help Valeria heal quickly.
Also sent to Krill:
Quote:Thanks for the directions. We now have contact with Portugal.
Also we accidentely have 44EP's on you. While you probably don't mind
this too much, we would just like to inform you about this mistake on
our part. Fell free to spend 44EP's on us in return.
Enough Talking!
