I will also send a note to Ottomans... something along these lines:
Quote:Recently we have been discussing border lines between Egypt and Carthage. As part of the discussions, we have been looking at the sheep tile roughly 5 S of your copper. We would like to draw up an agreement with the Ottoman Empire along these lines:
We get:
*Freedom to place a city 1N of the sheep in question. In exchange,
We cede:
*All other land north of our borders and east of the sheep tile, including the furs and all other lands in the valley region.
What do you think, Shoot the Moon?

Quote:Carthage gets:
*Settling rights 1SE of the "southern sheep" as referred to in the chat.
Egypt gets:
*2 workers. 1, Christy, to be delivered as soon as the horses are pastured at the new city. 2nd worker to be delivered roughly T80, dependent on the timing of Maths coming in. Carthage will keep Egypt up-to-date with completion estimates.
*If you would like, we would be happy to use Christy to create a trade network between our nations before gifting her to you. We would then gift you our spare sheep for a duration to be determined.
We would like to re-visit the northern sheep/corn territory discussions with you very soon. The SW-W tile of the northern sheep seems like a better site to us, and we are willing to accept a 2-tile overlap over a worse city site. However, rest assured that we will settle the area only after discussion with you.
What do you think of the changes?

Just thought of this, but the other reason why I prefer the SW-W site to the 1N site is that the SW-W is much better if we were ever to get in a war. N of the sheep would be quite a reach to try to defend, whereas SW-W would be much easier to defend as it is much more compact with the rest of our empire.

Not to mention it's much easier to sell to A4 as a natural border.

Also, in thinking about drafting a note to A4... I would like to give England directions from our borders to Ottomans, but notice that their warrior Richard is not on track to meet Krill's warrior next turn, like they should be. Did you notice him on T61? I'm worried he may have perished in the fog.
And now that we're about to be set with Krill on the St. Paul location, should I move the settler in that direction?

My first though is to have a nice intro (just something like we are glad to be establishing a border peacefully with your team, or something like that)
Anyway, here are my other wording changes (I just put them in bold)
Quote:Carthage gets:
*Settling rights 1SE of the "southern sheep" as referred to in the chat.
Egypt gets:
*2 workers. 1, Christy, to be delivered as soon as the horses are pastured at the new city. 2nd worker to be delivered chopped out after completion of math, most likely in Lakewood. Egypt would be kept informed on ETA on this worker.
*If you would like, we would be happy to use Christy to create a trade network between our nations before gifting her to you.
*If you have no other source of sheep, we can gift you a sheep for health reasons once we have a trade connection.
We would like to re-visit the northern sheep/corn territory discussions with you very soon. The SW-W tile of the northern sheep seems like a better site to us. We understand from our chat that you were considering a site for the corn that would have only a 2 tile overlap with that site. If that is still the case, for agreeing to allow the SW-W site, we would be willing to compromise by holding off settling it until our 6th city and agreeing not to fight a culture war over said tiles.
And then perhaps some nicety to end it too
Btw, if we are pushing for the SW-W site, I don't think we need mention anything to the Ottomans. If we were to be settling 1N, I would want to.

The changes look good, so I will add some nicety nicety and send it off. I figure when posting proposed notes here, I will skip the blah blah blah, since that's usually just wasted text anyway

I'm actually having a bit of second thoughts on the two workers thing. I kinda sense that Krill might have actually just been trying to get workers out of the deal the whole time. Then again, 1 worker now and then 1 worker chopped (it's only less than two chops anyway) isn't that big of a price.
By the way, perhaps a nice way to end the email to Krill would be to say, "we are looking forward to further cooperation with your civ. Just as an idea, would you perhaps be interested in utilizing our traits and trading a philosophical quickened- Great Scientist for some exp. - boosted workers (details to be worked out later)?".

I agree x2.
How about:
Quote:Krill,
We are overjoyed to be able to reach a peaceful border agreement with your nation. We want to re-emphasize that we meant no harm by not being more proactive, and that we truly thought we were further apart than we are. So on to the agreement:
Carthage gets:
*Settling rights 1SE of the "southern sheep" as referred to in the chat.
Egypt gets:
*The Carthage worker named "Christy", to be delivered as soon as the horses are pastured at the new city.
*If you would like, we would be happy to use Christy to create a trade network between our nations before gifting her to you.
*If you have no other source of sheep, we can gift you a sheep for health reasons once we have a trade connection.

Until later,
Mr. Nice Guy for Team Nice Shot
I would have no problem giving 2 workers, but why give more than he's asked for?
