1. Religion question
A.Use mod with all 7 religions available

2. Wait for 7?
B. No

3. Picking method
A. Mapmaker chooses a dozen of combos for everyone to pick from (like pb33)

4. Map type
B. Decent water presense
PS. I like when there's a lot of contested that land, so that the borders are not very clear already at the start of the game.

5. Wonders banned
C. Collosus - if there's a lot of water

6. Kremlin rush with Ghandi allowed?
A. Yes, please

Don't feel too strongly on any of this.

Actually I was kidding with the 6th question...

Agree with GJ about wrap and balance, but I also hope to see some neutral lands along with players starting area.

I have questions.

1) Is base BTS assumed?
2) As I understand, we can choose an arbitrary number of "points" which each player will have before the start of the game to buy stuff. How much points everyone would have?

I think base BTS is assumed.

As for the second question, you may be confusing advanced start with a medieval era game. For a medieval era game, start a custom game in base bts, look for the era tab on the left hand side and change from ancient to medieval. We start with 2 settlers, 2 archers, 1 worker, 1 explorer and all techs pre-medieval but there are no points to spend.

Thanks, the second part was truly enlightening!

There's some other settings to confirm/disscuss that I copy-pasted from the ren start:
Quote:Bans: Nukes, Blockades, Spy missions, Culture Bug, Aerial bombardment on improvements only (city bombardment allowed)
No: Huts, Events, Barbs, Vassal States, Tech Trading, Diplo Victory

Also, there's whether we begin with the starting units all on one tile, or spread out randomly the way the game does it.

Finally, as there does appear to be some disagreement re: the other settings, I'll just say for the record that I'm fine with whatever gets decided.

For simplicity, I'd suggest stacking units on one tile and having the mapmaker reveal an area around that starting tile. 7x7? 10x10? Depends on how much you want to reveal right away for simming out starts.

Bans on Nukes, Blockades, Active Spy Missions, Aerial bombardment on improvements - these bans are fine with me.
No huts, events, barbs, vassal states, tech trading, diplo victory - fine.

I'd rather allow the Culture Bug because it is unenforceable to ban it, but I don't really care enough to argue about it. If anyone actually does care enough to want it banned, I guess that's ok.

Mapmaker's choice for starting unit distribution I guess, although everything in one tile makes it easier to not make mistakes. At least 7x7 revealed, 9x9 preferred.
