RBP3 - [SPOILERS] - Team DIM (Mehmed of HRE)

I agree that it obviously benefits us to have Inca tied up in a war. I don't see any benefit to us to make peace. That said, I also don't see any diplomatic benefit to us suggesting that Ruff keep the war going at a cost to himself. I'd suggest a message congratulating Ruff on his war victory and commenting on how it's always great to see enemy units die but without actually telling him he should do that.

Are we sending the worker bees over to the corn now?

I'm voting that we name the new city after our fallen settler. Since it was a lion that killed them, but is now dead, I suggest "Singa Mati" which is Indonesian (where I grew up) for "Dead Lion." Our people will know that their sacrafices in the past are the building blocks for our future and that no enemy, whether beast or man, shall prevail against us.

I sent a message to Ruff telling him that keeping the war going would be good for the Cartel as a whole, but that he won't be able to develop his lands. I wasn't prepared to take the diplo hit and suggest he remains backwards and keeps our enemies at bay while we tech and develop.

Seconded. I hope that with half our armed forces around Singa Mati, we'll have a decent chance at actually founding it...

I'm excited to have horse archers so early. I have grand visions of getting the a horse up to Rome before they get iron. A horse archer and an axe would be able to pretty effectively keep iron offline without to a significant investment from Rome. Unless they settle on the iron, we only have to pillage the iron or ANY of the roads that connect it. (Assuming it isn't on a river). Thoughts?

Seems MB must be away for more than just the weekend...

The problem is getting an axe quick to Roman lands. We'd almost have to send an axe there now, and have the fast HA's follow once they're built. I'm waiting for a reply from Portugal to see if we can coordinate things.

Yeah, saw MB briefly online on Monday, but after that, nothing...

Agree, there's not much chance to get an axe there quickly. I still want to get a HA there as soon as we can. If we can convince an ally to send some other types of troops, we might be able to pin them down effectively. We don't need to kill them at this point, just hamper them long enough that we don't have to worry.

And then there was peace...

Quote:Hi All,

Athlete and I hammered out a peace deal. It doesn't include any of you so you still have options on that front. Here are the terms ...

1) Inca pays Aztecs 30g as soon as either team gets currency
2) All units return to Inca land by quickest route
3) NAP thru to T100
4) Inca claim stone location between Inca and Aztec land

1) is payback for the pillaging they did - probably massively undervalued (oh well).
2) is to stop them walking on India or Ottoman.

The stone site is flat and can be attacked diagonally by 2 movers without having to cross a river. I don't see that city surviving very long in the next war.

Ruff

And more peace...

Quote:Hi

We've managed to get a peace agreement too. The only condition was a
NAP until T95 to try to minimize co-ordination between the 2 of us but
they wanted it until T100 so we agreed with that.

Enough Talking!
WarriorKnight of A4

Swell, but that means that we're the only Cartel member bordering Inca without a NAP... lol

I've played the turn, and unless the Carthage warrior accross the river from the Settler decides to go berserk and somehow wins the battle, we should found Shinga next turn.

Krill has gotten Masonry from India. I'm pretty sure he will wait to found his third city so Monotheism will land in his Hindu holy city...

Ilios asked me to check on the EP ratio with France. Currently we're at 59 EPs toward them and they have 101 against us. Ilios is concerned that they either can see our research or will be able to soon. I did some checking and for us to see the research of other civs, we need between 75 and 125 EPs. I assume this number depends on how much EP they have directed toward us. Unfortunately, I don't know how to actually calculate the level of EP needed to see research. I'm sure it's somewhere at CFC but I can't be browsing too long while at work! We do have a larger than necessary amount of EP against France (to see a civ's demo starts around 40 I think). We definitely need to keep watching these numbers and see how much france is directing at us. That said, the more I think about it, the more I think they probably don't have enough to see our research yet. For now, we re-set all our EP back at France.

Thanks again Dazed.

I've sent a message to France, sterner in tone then my last request, politely asking them to fully switch all their EP's on the other teams.

They don't really react to emails, I'm not sure they're used to handling a lot of diplo.

Any lurker who can confirm that putting EP's on a rival team will in turn increase costs for said team's Espionage?
