RBP3 [SPOILERS] - Zara of the Ottomans

So just to be clear (as mud) Ruff couldn't gift us a 8XP unit requiring us to get 2XP but for instance DIM could gift us a 9XP unit requiring us to get 1XP

Yes, but not entirely correct.

If Ruff gifts us an 8xp unit, it will automatically get 2 more experience points because he is CHA but we aren't.

Since neither DIM or us are CHA, it doesn't affect exp points.

Maybe one of the lurkers could explain better?

Gifting units from Charismatic to "normal" leader causes 25% addition to experience e.g. 8->10. Whereas gifting other way round experience is reduced by 25%.

Because of rounding rules it is bad idea to gift units back and forth with Charismatic leader. E.g. If you've a unit with experience 5 and gift it to Charismatic leader the experience goes to 3 and when it is gifted back to you experience goes to 4.

If Ruff selects promotions for the 8xp unit it will become a level 3 unit that enables his Heroic Epic. I would assume that it stays level 3 if gifted and enables your Heroic Epic. If he leaves the unit unpromoted I would assume that you just get the xp and that you would need 2 additional xp to enable your Heroic Epic. Either way I would play it safe and in good faith and trade a 7xp unit.

EDIT: Massive crosspost (apparently I didn't have the latest version of the thread loaded). Never mind my assumptions. But act in good faith. smile
I have to run.

Thanks lurkers, always appreciated thumbsup I think plakos got the right of it, the 25% bonus to exp gets applied when shifting unit between CHA and non-CHA civs. We could get a 7xp unit from Ruff (7xp for him, 8xp for us), but then he doesn't get his HE so I wouldn't think he'd be keen on that idea. lol

On the topic, it's best to get units from Ruff when he has them at multiples of 4xp as they'll pick up extra points of experience doing that. Contrast that to if he gifts them at 3xp, I think they'll stay at 3xp (due to rounding issues).

It's not the first time I've done it and I'm sure it won't be the last lol

Anyway, enough of that, now back to the game!

Lurkers, thanks for your input. It is really appreciated.

I personally don't want to be bending any rules guys, even if it is kinda legal. I dont even want to entertain an argument or be asked to explain ourselves.

My $0.02 worth

I know Ruff wants to get out and meet the other CAN members, but we could really do with both chariots back ourselves actually for scouting / escorting. Could we not direct people to him? I know I said I was cool with this earlier, but now i'm not sure, are we being too nice again? Our purpose was to get Ruff out of a hole and we achieved that. Had we not agreed to assign units to one General, i'm fairly certain we wouldnt be gifting units now.

Based on our conversation earlier today, we would like to uncover West of Aquilonia, South towards Carthage and cover our settler worker combo towards Gold in the NE. After our conversation I took this as we are going to struggle to do all 3 with the units we have (After gifts to Ruff).

We can't decide on what the compo will be from Ruff and we still have to get it agreed by Ruff anyhow. Cash we could use for upgrades, but it wouldnt surprise me if we are expected to spend that on research which benefits CAN as a whole or even AWTA.

How about he gifts us them back and he can have the chariot back for scouting once Gold site is clear? Could that be too late? Or how about we trade him horses for a few turns so he can build his own chariot?

Am I talking nonsense again or is this viable?

We noticed your Richard the Lionhearted on the edge of our borders. Welcome to the lands of Greater Hyboria!

As a member of CAN, we would be happy to help you contact others nearby. Ruff is located to our N and and India are to our NW.

Also, would you be interested in OB?

Quote:Hi,

I'll try to keep this short as I know how quickly you tire of talking. I did give the French direcctions to meet your chariot and they did respond but they appear not to have followed them. If you move your chariot 2 tiles south directly to a hill you should get contact then as they are 4 tiles directly south of your chariot now. Although they might move away by the time you get this.

Well, we have an update on the French warrior, so that's good.

How do we 'tire of talking'? Has we done anything to show that we are that?

CHASM:

Quote:Thank you for your directions, what would be the best route through your territory to meet the Aztec and India? We need to contact India first, if possible, as we need Masonry to get Monotheism when Krill finishes it for our research into Monarchy, which we predict will be around T80.

We have offered OBs in-game, as Richard wishes to enter your territory this turn, and we do not wish to copy your tactics for forced entry into allied territory.

We would like to propose an auto-renewing NAP, with a 10t cooldown, and the earliest it would be canceled is T100. If the NAP is canceled on turn X, then on turn X+10, only the civ which did NOT cancel the NAP may declare war. On turn X+11, either team may attack. Both teams agree not to spend more than 43EP against one another for the duration of the NAP + cooldown phase.

If you have one, an ETA of Iron Working would be appreciated, so that we can manage our workers to be as available as possible at that time, both for our jungled silver and for any iron Sullla decided to bestow upon our humble civ. If you wish to arrange a time to chat, the hours between noon and midnight, EST, usually work best.

That is a great picture. We hope that your team is speaking out on behalf of Conan in http://www.suvudu.com/cagematch.html. Conan survived the first combatant, Harry Dresden, and will face Rand Al'Thor beginning on Monday.

Lots of stuff here. I don't see harm in helping them meet India since math will probably finish before they meet.

NAP is strange, but I don't see why we can't accept. Having the one which not canceled being allowed to declare earlier translates to having an 11 turn cool off. I suppose if they are equal and both want to declare it could be fine but I don't see that happening. EP is good but not a necessity.

I don't know what the last paragraph is talking about, I'll have to ask ad what it is.

OK, Turn 66 done:

Valeria moved 2S and has indeed met France. Will send them something.

Did most of the other stuff and ended turn. Only then did I realize we are supposed to whip the worker in Nemedia this turn. smoke Can we do stuff after we end turn? There is nothing in the planning thread (rule list) about it but I think there is an unwritten rule about this somewhere.

Otherwise how badly have I stuffed our plan? banghead

I don't see the problem with whipping after your turn has ended.
