Okay - wow.
1) I was assuming Muqa would cost 3 gold in maintenance per turn. In fact, combined with the capital, it's barely costing 2! I can probably work out the map's actual dimensions from that information (I was testing/sandboxing on a 42x42 map to make absolutely sure I wouldn't under-estimate maintenance costs while getting into the right general neighborhood) but in the meantime the main thing is that Muqa is even better for the empire than I expected!
2) You're right, that jump on dtay's power graph suggests a warrior completed EoT30. That's consistent with the assumption that he chopped out the Settler, completing EoT29. I believe that means dtay revolted to slavery this turn (T32) and will probably plant his city next turn (T33, so one turn after us). This is actually a really good sign: I believe it means he can't connect Copper before researching The Wheel!
3) Wow - legitimately first in crop yield too. The demos keep showing us as first in ties, but we're two food clear of second place here, even though a couple players have size-4 capitals. We won't keep that lead forever, but it's definitely a good sign! Somebody's had really high MFG for the last two or three turns though. I'm guessing it's Coeurva building another settler, trying to maximize his IMP bonus; hopefully I'll be able to confirm once I get caught up on the overall demo picture. (Haven't had time lately while playing my Orion turns!)
4) Cool story about going to a quiz with your friends! I'm not familiar with recreational quizzes though (unless it relates to "quiz shows" I guess; there was a time when I used to watch TV...) - what are those like?
5) I'm hesitant to say it because everything weird or aggressive seems to keep coming up Incan, but I think based on play times my first guess at the other player in Gavagai's war split would be Krill. As has been said before, I wouldn't mind these two getting into a spitting match, although if they do, and if it's because Krill settled toward Gav, whoever's on the other side of Incan lands will reap some major benefits.

And the sooner we can get that silver online (both for the tile yield and happiness) the better.
2) It sure looks like we get away with our calculated gamble short term at least. I`m curious on whether dtay sees us as easy prey or a long-term friend. He probably hasn`t made up his mind yet, though.
3) We`ve had a decent start here. I hope we can snowball our opening advantage into slightly more land than our neighbours.
4) I really like going to quizzes. The quiz I usually go to has 8 categories of 5 questions each. The quiz master could ask questions about anything from music to sports and news happenings. My favorite categories include geography and history.
5) I hope you`re right. If that theory is correct it would benefit their neighbours a lot. And, incidentally, all the others!

It got too late, and I have to work early tomorrow - sorry! I still want to come up with at least a decent alternative or improvement to the current plan but ... tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have a chance to post something interesting on a break at work! (And if the turn rolls in the next few hours and we just keep going with the plan as originally conceived, that would mean the turn's moving quickly, which would be great news anyway!)

I went through a number of options, and didn't find a clearly better way forward then the existing plan. Reposting it here so it's easier to find:

I think the existing micro plan is better than the alternatives. We have to build that third city and finish that road connection immediately. Having copper is ever so important at this stage of the game. As we`re definitely going for that micro plan: Do we lose any hammers by dumping the overflow from the settler into a warrior instead of a worker? I think we want Borte to grow to size 3 in order to use all of its strong tiles before finishing that worker.
Dtay seems to have problems playing his turn at this time of the week, so I`m expecting a pause for him. Hopefully he`ll play before the timer runs out though.

Very good point. The idea of putting the overflow into a worker was for the case where Toregene is able to share one of Borte's resource tiles, allowing us to get the EXP bonus on the overflow hammers, while still working all three strong tiles (in one city or the other) continuously apart from T39 and possibly T40 - and we still would likely grow on a warrior there before completing the Worker even if we did "catch" the overflow this way. If Toregene won't be able to share a food tile with the capital though, we should definitely regrow Borte right away; there's even an argument for putting those hammers into a warrior if Toregene does share a food tile, depending on where copper turns up and how urgently a warrior seems to be needed.
On the specific question of lost hammers: Nothing is lost to excess overflow in these circumstances; we only "lose" a few hammers of Exp bonus for the worker. That would look something like this:
Other things:
1) I think I prefer to improving the sheep at Muqa before the the silver, but there's an argument for going the other way. Unless copper turns up at a site that can share its sheep (and maybe even if it does) we're probably going to want to come up with some kind of ten-turn Settler/Whip/OverflowToWorker/GrowOnSomething cycle for the city. I'll look into it when I get the chance.

Another item: I looked at the actual login times on civstats, and they probably mean - whoever Gavagai is or was at war with - it probably isn't Krill. (In fact, it looks like this turn, though Krill logged in early, he didn't end turn before Gav played; that's rare for Krill, but I suspect he finished BW this turn, logged in to check for Copper's location, then logged out to make plans around it before actually playing.) I would guess Dark Savant, but he always plays early and logs in multiple times during the turn, so his habit of doing so lately doesn't necessarily mean he's in the first half of the turn split and looking to see what Gav has done (but of course not move any units or anything) in order to plan for the next turn. The other possibility is GermanJoey, though there's also a chance it was Coeurva if they made peace by last turn.
Also, unless he did the greatest job in history of disguising it on civstats (founding, choosing a build, and hitting end turn so quickly that civstats put the turn roll and his score increase in the wrong order) dtay still hasn't founded his second city. Checking the diplo screen should confirm this (no cities listed on his side) and his food/production/GNP graphs should confirm what else is going on: It's possible that instead of chopping into a Settler, he ... farmed his floodplain? Or something? Or he sent his Settler out ~unescorted and it got eaten by a wolf? Recalling Commodore in one of the very early PBs, that would officially mean Tokuzulu is cursed. Let's not get our hopes up though. (Also, can we check his MFG graph? With no trade route, we won't see copper on his diplo screen, so I'd like to be doubly sure he doesn't have it at his capital....)
Not game-related, but: Are the quizzes you attend team games? Or does everyone compete individually? It sounds like a neat event, and one with which I've had no experience myself!
