CML hallucinates another undeserved victory

(May 1st, 2017, 02:14)CML Wrote: ***BORING TECH REQUEST***

I've gotten to the point where I can log in sometimes on Windows Civ 4, but the game crashes. Most frequently the game crashes when I try to load it (after the initial 2K screen), but in the rare event I do get in, when I load anything in single-player, the menus are missing. Sometimes the game flickers uglily on the load screen. I'm using Wine through CrossOver on Sierra (10.12.1). Plz halp

I don't know much, but I can at least ask a few questions, and maybe your problem will be one I've seen. I'm not a Mac guy, so it mostly depends on whether the problem is Mac or something more general.

So, first question: what exactly can you do and can you *not* do?
Can you open up normal Civ Beyond the Sword and play single player?
Can you open up the mod in single player?
Does it ever load multiplayer or are you stuck before that?

Hey guys—quick question here (since it seems to have come up in the tech thread as a potential problem, and I couldn't figure out whether it was kosher or not based on re-reading the rules):

A turn ago, we moved our warrior into the position below and ended the turn, then logged on again (later I think? Still have a friend making the moves for me) and captured the worker. Does this count as a double-move even without a pre-existing DoW?

If so, we probably want to reload. If not ...  popcorn

Set up double-whipped axes next turn in as many cities as possible. Next turn I should have horses connected, as long as the barbs don't screw up my plans, and will have the option to get a few Chariots with overflow

Changed research to Archery. If I am to not just survive, but have a shot at winning, I will need to try to recapture some territory with Horse Archers. Don't know how realistic it is, and HBR is quite a long research (13 turns at 100% slider at the moment), but I would rather go down fighting than wait for Knights to come knocking, and this is the best option I see. Plus, in the immediate future, I would like access to cheap defenders if the war continues. And I don't see any immediate benefits Sailing would give

Sent white peace offer to Coeur. He probably won't accept, but there's always hope, and I would much rather put that overflow into infrastructure than into more units
