[SPOILER] PB37 Dark Savant tries not to be a blatant MP n00b

I thought that comes on the interturn.

Is there some other indication we won't get it?  It's specifically defined in the XML, at least, and this map does meet that threshold.

It looks like he is.  And yes, that's a very defensible location at least.

Any plans to put EPs on him?

Yes, but I was planning to put a few more turns of EP into Gavagai and Ventessel first so we don't lose graphs on them.

Question for lurkers about game mechanics:

I've been operating on the assumption that once I get vision on a city, I can see buildings appear there even in the fog of war, the way you can see its population change.

Now I realized that I'm not completely sure of this -- is that actually the case?

I'm asking partly because I should have asked explicitly in the case of RtR circumnavigation, which is moot one way or the other now.  (I did ask about land area, figured that out for myself, then only later realized I did not actually ask about this mod's mechanics.  duh)

Fog of war only hides units and improvements. City size, globe view building, wonder/GP notifications work fine once you reveal city.

Thank you!

I thought that was the case, but I was relying more on memory than anything else, and you know how reliable that can be.  lol

I rely on the things I can test out.

I suppose I could have done that myself in that case.

Still, thank you!

Turn 62 (1520 BC) - Part 2

The war horns sounded while I was playing and made me absolutely jump out of my chair.   eek   It's pretty much the most dreaded Civ sound to me, across all the games.

That doesn't happen during your turn in single-player, unless you cause it yourself.

Of course, it's this:

[Image: t062-ventessel-finally-declares.jpg?raw=1]

I don't see how he can possibly win -- I really doubt he has enough units.  His two whips whip last turn only got him what looks like 1 chariot.  Did he actually 2-pop-whip a settler last turn?  If he's doing this, he had to have committed much harder to an attack.  As in, his third city should have been Krill's capital.

Oh well. alright

Krill is evidently unconcerned.  He still isn't whipping anything in either of his first two cities.  They're size 7 and size 5 respectively.

Also, GermanJoey must be very mindful of Ventessel's power, because Sandro found this scout:

[Image: t062-germanjoey-fortified-scout.jpg?raw=1]

That scout has the maximum fortify bonus, so it must be constantly watching for incoming units of Ventessel -- which as we apparently know better than GermanJoey, isn't going to happen.

You know, I'm getting the impression scouting will never fail to find something interesting.  It's too dense for us to not find something.  Though Gem is going to retrace her steps for a few turns, so she won't turn up much new imminently.

Our other just-produced work boat is more interested in scouting east of our core and starting whaling boats, but she does find this:

That's presumably Coeurva's marble.

Our scouting hasn't yet turned up any stone at all, on the other hand.

The whip unhappiness clock in Castle Ironfist just expired this turn.  In what may or may not be sheer coincidence, I can just now 2-pop-whip the settler there.

whip Suddenly, we have 2 fewer pop points in our capital. whip

Worker #6 completes in Harmondale, and together with Razanur finishes a 1-turn road on the horses so Harmondale can start a chariot this turn.

I believe the only other hobbit whose full Westron name is known is Hamfast Gamgee.  I'm going to move on to alternate Tolkien elf names, and the obvious place to start is Galadriel and Celeborn.  Galadriel is also known as Artanis.  Yes, that's the same name as the Protoss executor from Starcraft.  En Taro Adun!

Silver is now online at Castleview.
