Well, it seems going builder first was the right call, with another coast in the west this looks increasingly like a penninsula or even an island to me.
There is another lake hiding in the fog so it could be that the continent continues in the west.
Everyone settled in place.

Without spoiling anything I can confirm that you are not Alhambrams neighbor this time.
Thank you.
And funny.

Naming scheme seems to be above criticism, that's always a plus in my book!
Yes, I do find London to be a city which will be rather a beauty with a nice district layout.
About the naming sheme, couldn´t resist. And some names will be awfully fitting to my performance, I assume.

Hmm. There are some slightly downer titles in the discography.
But it could be "Princes of the Universe", or "We are the Champions"! Good luck .

This looks more like a penninsula once again. There is a river to the west and I am not sure where to put my 2nd city right atm. Harvest the rice, build an aqueduct over the rice and the city on the hill.
More info is needed.
In case this continent gets longer I might need to push inwards soon and more aggressive.
The tilepicker looks intent to pick up the sugar which has the most yield but gives my worker less to do, I am leaning towards a quick chop after the 2 quarries in that case.
The GAd and the GS look decent to me. A rather disappointing GM and GG this time around.

The exploring Warrior spots another peaky, very rough terrain to our west, scouting will be sluggish.

Probably going with "The Show must go on" and "Breakthru" for the right mood.

Short on time today, even more land, looks like we are not on an island, and increasingly unlikely alone.

Singaboy seems to work a bit more food then us, growing a pop this turn.
And most importantly, we make contact with a CS probably, I doubt a player would be so close to us.

Sluggish exploration continues, I do not want to risk one more turn to uncover a potential CS so I go northwest.

Had some stressful days the last turns, so did not comment to much, but from my experience from PBEM #3, a screenie a turn at least at the start helps quite a lot with at least following the game, but not the thought process.
First of all, my test games have shown that you can be on rather cramped islands very easily with the map script and as I had coast at least on 3 sides, I think a workers opening was rather valid, I am torn between slinger-settler or settler-slinger at the moment, probably leaning towards the former as it seems the warrior still has a lot left to explore. I may be making a mistake by not getting a scout, but I would rather push for a quick 2nd city to push out of my penninsula box, rather then get stuck in a similar position like I did in PBEM #2. As I am England I would prefer to settle on a coastal spot as the harbour district and the subsequent trade routes are quicker and easier to get then through a commercial district.
With my limited knowledge so far Plainshill Dot is still my target, this will very possibly change.
So the Warrior will continue to push SW from now on, with the slinger which I will chop out with the forest will go SW as well. As long as my luck with barbarians hold that is, else I will get another warrior. Also notice that without scouts there is no incentive to go with x2 experience, so my units pack a bit more of antibarbarian punch with discipline which I would prefer over a dubious experience boost for one scout I might get. With non water maps in SP (against the AI) I prefer the double scout opening.
The great news, we uncover one of the best CS there is. Carthage. The bad news is that I will be highly unlikely to conquer it, if I can afford not to. Carthage (+1 trade route for encampments), Geneva (+15% science), Stockholm (+1 GP per district for cities), Yerevan (godlike for religious victories in SP) are always nice to have, next tier followed by amneties CS like Buenos Aires, etc..
Also it is a military city state, and whilst any bonus is nice to have at the beginning, the strongest boosts are a quick envoy for military, industrial or cultural production. Religious prevents one from having to suffer through the suboptimal cultural policy of God King.
The quest is a bit of a downer, not as bad as "Recruit Great Writer", but "Recruit Great Scientist" is unlikely to be done for the classical age. It may tilt my hand towards erecting a campus very early on on the chopped forest tile. This depends on my meeting another player on this continent and if I can afford to delay my planned expansion. Right now I want Plainshill Dot for the sheer production and a coastal settle for a 2nd water ressource for the Celestial Navigation eureka and a second harbour location.
Also I miss having a ded lurker for the discussion and sanity check. Here is hoping I can snatch one for the next PBEM. But with two very solid losses under my belt, I am probably not the best one to rout for.
