Turn 79 (900 BC) - Part 3 (C&D)
Things are still happening elsewhere, of course. dtay already has a city on marble that is probably an island city.
Also, dtay planted city #8, Anchorbar, this turn. He's gained 5 cities in 10 turns, and now he's the leader in city count.

Turn 79 (900 BC) - Part 4 (C&D continued)
Score tally: - Us: +5 points for +1 pop in each of Sorpigal and Garrote Gorge; -8 points for a -2 pop whip in Sorpigal and a -1 pop whip in Garrote Gorge (24 pop total).
- Coeurva: +2 points for +1 pop in Dragonish Sicil (28 pop total); +10 points for 7 land tiles claimed by the first ring of Ignis Fatuus for 20 turns.
- dtay: +7 points for +3 pop; +3 points for planting city #8, Anchorbar (25 pop total); +6 points for researching Writing. (dtay can now trade World Maps with us.)
- GermanJoey: +5 points for +1 pop in each of Seven Mysteries and Heavenly Star; +18 points for the Great Lighthouse.
- JR4: uncertain, but my best guess is +5 points for +2 pop, 1 in his capital Borte (29 pop total); +8 points for 6 land tiles claimed by the first ring of Oghul Qaimish for 20 turns; +12 points for a Classical era technology that can't be Metal Casting, Iron Working, Horseback Riding, Alphabet, or Code of Laws.
- Krill: +7 points for +1 pop in each of Animal Farm, Wigan Pier, and 12 Monkeys (22 pop total); +6 points for researching an Ancient era technology that is likely to be Sailing (and cannot be Polytheism).
- yuris125: -10 points for 2 -2 pop whips (11 pop total). Wow, he just whipped almost a third of his pop in one go.
Coeurva shows a small power dip last turn. Not much, but actual bloodshed is happening. (He hasn't played yet.)

Actually, Fountain Head is only doomed if Coeurva's galley has 2 axes (and even then we might get lucky). I can arrange to attack anything that lands next to Fountain Head on t80 with 2 land-based spears, the Sentry chariot, an amphibious axe, and an amphibious spear on t81.

Turn 79 (900 BC) - Part 5
Coeurva moved his galley here:
Well, that definitely isn't a peaceful move.
That galley and his warrior (which is still hovering around) are the only units in sight -- Whitehall is currently ungarrisoned. The chariot that was in there is gone -- probably in the galley but who knows.
I'm of half a mind to upgrade the warrior next turn -- the only thing that would be serious trouble for us in the galley is 2 axes.
Also, I'm not sure it's practical at this point to let his warrior not see the galley -- I'd like to be able to move the Sentry chariot next turn so it can cover a landing by whatever's in the galley.
I take it the 32% chance his galley would win against ours is an acceptable risk?

Oh, auto-promote automatically promotes all your units everywhere? I don't think we want that. Hmm.
I'm also wondering if we should research Metal Casting partly so we can sink rival galleys.

I think you should be considering killing his warrior.
Also, it looks like he whipped in Whitehall. We need to see what he built before decidign what to load.
32% is fine.

Yeah, I probably should at this point, shouldn't I -- except that chariot only gets ~78% odds (the warrior moved back to one of the forest tiles). I'm not sure I like those odds.

That whip was last turn, for the galley produced this turn.

I forgot about this because most of the water tiles on this map are coastal -- but if Coeurva's galley blocks the southern coast of the western peninsula, we can't amphibiously attack Whitehall on t81. We could land an axe and a spear next to it that turn, at least.

Given that, we could also possibly land next to Dragonish Sicil, although that has inferior defensive terrain for the landing and we also can't see what's there. If we do that, we can actually move the Sentry chariot to support the attack.

Turn 80 (875 BC) - Part 1
News is currently dominated by impending war with Coeurva.
I made the following moves:
My best guess is that Coeurva does not actually want a full-blown war with us (as he's already fighting one with yuris125), and his galley presumably has a chariot or two that I am reading as "testing border security". If he happens to have enough to both seriously threaten Fountain Head, defend both Dragonish Sicil and Whitehall, and attack yuris125 all at the same time ... well, when you read this thread, congratulaions, Coeurva!
So I blew 80 gold upgrading our warrior in Fountain Head. (Yeah, ouch, but I think I had to do it.) If he actually has an axe in there ... well, that's going to be trouble with my moves, but unless he has 2 axes, he will have poor odds attacking straight from the galley, since I also just promoted the new spear to Shock. He'd have to land troops, although I don't have anything in the area that can handle an axe unless I can use the units on the galley amphibiously.
The galley has an axe and a spear, and unless Coeurva sinks it at 32% odds, it will be able to land troops next to either Whitehall or Dragonish Sicil next turn, or directly attack Whitehall.
Note that Coeurva cannot currently see our galley. I kept the Sentry chariot there one more turn, because if Coeurva sees the spear in Fountain Head and pulls back, he probably will not advance the warrior and thus won't know the galley is there.
Green dot has 2 workers covered by a spear. If Coeurva lands chariots only, that won't be a problem, though I don't expect that.
