Okay, dtay is teching at an alarming speed right now. Take a look at the event log. Yes, that`s right. He`s got Feudalism now! His Golden Age should come to an end in two turns, not a minute too early. The only thing that`s good about that is the known tech bonus which will help us a bit. I don`t like him being able to build high XP units out of the gate but the window should close in about 5-6 turns I think. Dtay moved up a Trireme next to our galley, so I withdrew the galley out of range, just in case.
Nambui is now building a worker, which will be whipped next turn. The timing looks to work out beautifully on the completion of Moai! As Courthouses are quite expensive, we didn`t whip any out this turn but next turn at least Muqa and Chubei can do it. The Confucian Missionary will try to spread the faith next turn. The Jewish Missionary in Toregene will finish next turn. Borte will grow to size 13. Joey has the largest city in the world, his capital stands at 14 pop.
I thought the tile 2N of Oljei Baajii would come under our control as we control all of the tiles around it. Well, no. After the screenshot was taken it took over the forest from Radnashiri, which is a better tile than unimproved coast.
Oghul Qaimish still didn`t whip the settler. We could still whip it for 3 pop actually. We`re starting to run out of high quality city sites and it`s not needed right away I think.
Graphs and demos: As already mentioned, dtay is looking very good atm. Joey has a higher output in hammers.
You`re right about us being the only SPI civ making a Golden Age a bit less important as we can swap civics around at will. I`m still a bit concerned that dtay and Joey will just power ahead, beelining a military tech and crush us.
Bayan Khutugh will not be able to compete with Dark Savant`s city in the long run in the culture war. However, it`s always good to have a little extra culture there. Maybe it can build a Library soon.
Somehow we got control of the clam 2N of Oljei Baajii the turn after Radnashiri`s borders expanded. Sugabala is now making that work boat that will help the Confucian Holy city along nicely. We got a free Confucian spread to Mandukhan.
As you might have noticed, the whip button was used a lot this turn! 2 Courthouses finish eot (Muqa and Chubei). Oghul Qaimish 2 pop whipped a settler. Dalietimishi whipped a work boat that is just in time to net the fish as it expands borders. A Missionary is on its way out there. Finally, Nambui whipped the worker so that we can complete Moai on schedule. Oh, yes the Confucian Missionary did spread the faith into Muqa! Now it can build a Temple right after the Courthouse is done.
Bulugan started a Ger. It`s one of our best production cities and it should probably make some Keshiks soon. Btw, we need to take into account that our neighbors are about to get better weaponry than us. Perhaps we should slip in a few more units, to stay on the safe side..
We`re saving gold for another turn and then we can 1 turn Monarchy. Should we revolt to Hereditary Rule/Caste System/Paganism next turn already? My thinking is to wait for a few turns until we have whipped out all those Courthouses.
Also, Krill completed another wonder. No surprise that he got it.
Graphs and demos: For the first time in a while, our demos look.. not that good. We`ve been whipping a lot of infrastructure lately. Hopefully we`ll catch up again soon. Also, note that dtay is building a bit more military.
[EDIT: I typed the following up before seeing the T120 report. Looking at that now....]
I seem to vaguely recall that the surrounded-by-culture thing only works for land tiles [EDIT: except obviously I'm wrong; there's just a delay sometimes because Civ's culture rules are weird, but the following is true anyway]. Oljei Baaji will definitely need to get some culture going (which was true anyway). That'll be easy if we do end up spending 5 turns in either No State Religion or Caste System soon of course, and I think you mentioned that we're sending the city a missionary anyway, so that's cool.
I should have anticipated that trireme. We need to get Metal Casting if we don't want dtay (and anyone else who has it) to be able to bully us on the high seas. (It also helps with happiness and long-term production via forges of course.) I do think dtay is on more or less of a Guilds beeline, so...
Let's look at defensive options:
1) Tech Construction ASAP (before Monarchy) and start building Cats and Wellies. Military builds in the meantime should be spears and keshiks.
2) Tech Monarchy - Feudalism, building Spearmen and Keshiks in the meantime. This is a very passive option: We'll have no units that can get odds when attacking Knights, and no source of collateral. (Ger Keshiks can take F2 and have good odds of retreating, but we would need a serious numeric advantage to make that work on its own, especially against C2 Knights and potentially C2 Formation Impis.)
3) Assume dtay and GJ have their sights set on their weaker neighbors, and delay the big military techs. In this case, we could still go Monarchy next, and maybe even follow it up with Metal Casting. Or go MC next, hoping to play for the long game and/or deter attacks on the seas.

I addressed this some above, but taking a step back: Whether or not to build more units is really a question of whether we think failing to do so will result in an attack on us from dtay or GermanJoey that we could otherwise have avoided. Obviously we shouldn't ignore units, but if we think we're not going to be a target regardless, since we're not planning an attack with current-tech units, then they can take a back seat to infrastructure. If we think e.g. dtay might attack us if we aren't ready, then we should make sure he knows we're ready. One way to do this is to tech Construction and "show" him a Cat or Welly. Another is to just increase our Military Power by building units we think we'll need anyway: Keshiks in Ger good cities, and/or Spears or Swords.
The reality is that we don't want dtay to attack us and fail. We want dtay to anticipate failing if he attacks us, or at least making fewer gains than he would by attacking Russia, and therefore for dtay to leave us alone.

I agree that we shouldn't revolt yet next turn. In fact, I wouldn't turn on research for Monarchy this turn unless we're expecting to need the HR happiness next turn already - in which case, I'd just revolt to HR (keeping Slavery and OR) and plan for a revolt five turns later. I'm not even convinced we want Monarchy before MC and/or Construction, as noted above.
Hmm, this is a critical junction. You are right that the Monarchy - Feudalism line is pretty defensive. It would, however, give us the option of going for Vassalage and we`d get a huge amount of happiness so it`s still not awful.
As for the other choices, I favor Metal Casting over Construction, as it will give us access to Forges, Triremes and Workshops. Construction is more of a military only tech. Last time I checked, Metal Casting was a 2 turn tech, hopefully we can get it down to 1 with our improved tech rate. We really should make a few Keshiks soon to keep the power level reasonably high. Also, we need to decide where to put all those EP now. I agree that it`s probably best to single out Joey or dtay. I`m still inclined to see Joey as the bigger threat long term. On the other hand, knowing the exact time when dtay finishes Guilds would be helpful. Decisions..
Our Jewish Missionary tried to spread the faith to Oghul Qaimish.
Yes, that`s better! It started a Monastery right away. With that we`ll hopefully keep the edge in the cultural war.
Note dtay`s Trireme is chasing our Galley. For now it`s safe in Empress Gi. That`s annoying. He`s clearly putting a message out here. Research was set to Metal Casting, which we`re almost able to 1 turn. We just can`t be at such a disadvantage on the seas for a long time. Also, dtay built more military and is clearly ahead of us there. I set all EP on him (8 for the time being). I haven`t got much to complain about regarding our northern neighbor up until now but he increasingly looks like a threat. Chubei started a Keshik. Bulugan could start one next turn, after the Ger is done.
The Settler from Oghul Qaimish was sent 4NE. We have 2 options here. It could build the city between Muqa and Bulugan or it could go all the way to the site E of Muqa. I`m actually favoring the last one as Muqa really would appreciate the chop in its second ring on the western side of the city. The eastern site has seafood in its first ring.
EDIT: On the other hand, the hill between Muqa and Bulugan can be settled already next turn and can steal the sheep from Muqa to get up to speed. How much do we value that forest?
Our 3rd COurthouse was whipped this turn, in Kokejin. Maybe now it can finally build that Missionary for Oljei Baaji. Sugabala could start a Courthouse next turn after the work boat is done. Our expenses are a bit lower now fortunately.
Graphs and demos: As already mentioned, the world is about to be a more dangerous place to live. Dtay is building a lot of military. I think he`s going for Russia but it`s a bit strange to do it before he`s got those awesome Knights. Also, his crop yield has just gone through the roof here. Seriously, he`s playing a very strong opening/middle game.
