Science at 10% will complete Archery in 1 turn, so that's next.
The Mausoleum is currently due in something like 15 turns if I slow-build it. I have 5 forests to chop and can whip for 4 pop for not-so-slow building.

t126:
No one built the Mausoleum. We have a Great Scientist due in 4 turns. You know, I'd thought building the Mausoleum would extend an existing Golden Age; does it actually? (Lurker question.) It doesn't seem to in tests, and I don't know why I thought that.
Archery is in. Let's see; I can run 100% gold for 1 turn, then get all of Code of Laws on t128. Okay, that's next.
No, I'm not going to crash-build courthouses everywhere, the way I did libraries and markets and forges. I need to start some military again.
Gavagai has captured a city of JR4's, off his coast. No peace treaty there yet.
No obvious action in the Coeurva-Krill war. I don't want to cancel OB with Coeurva as long as our border is as vulnerable as it currently is, and I don't want to cancel OB with Krill as long as he prosecutes war against Coeurva.
GermanJoey rejected our OB offer, offered it straight up. Well, I don't really need it that much (we can whip archers now); offered back for 6gpt.

t127/t128:
No one built the Mausoleum.
I can micromanage things to build the Mausoleum by t134, with 5 chops on t132 and a 4-pop-whip on t133. I hope that's fast enough. I'll try to save the Great Scientist due on t130 for the Mausoleum's completion.
Sorpigal now has the Moai Statues, another thing to have for a Golden Age.
Code of Laws arrived this turn. That's for Caste System for generating more Great People. I'm going to continue to go all-in on the Mausoleum and try to back it up with the Parthenon so I can generate a lot of Great People for Golden Ages. Next up, Polytheism, due next turn at 30% science.
GermanJoey had 2 galleys and a trireme just show up one of our island cities. I did just whip an archer there; I presume he is going to grab an island nearby, but it's possible he'll attack us. I'm inclined to think he will not -- he has a few exposed islands with 1-archer garrisons. That, and we do have a NAP that I think he'll honor at least until he can get some more islands settled.
Gavagai is beating JR4 about some -- he's claimed a second city of his. JR4 is responding by whipping a lot of stuff, enough so that we've passed JR4 in score.
Coeurva and Krill are still at war -- there is still no sign of lost cities or serious power surges/drops there. I don't think either can do more than grab a few islands from the other.

Sounds good.
What tech do you want next? Literature for the epics? Can we build Heroic yet?

We don't have a unit for building the Heroic Epic, no -- there were very few barbs on this map because it was so easy to unfog pretty much everything. Well, other than coast tiles for barbarian galleys.
We can certainly take Literature next, but I'm uncertain where to build the National Epic. If I build it in Sorpigal (the obvious location) ... it's currently on a forge, may move on to the Parthenon next (I haven't done the micro, but with a Golden Age this is likely our strongest site), and then has to build a library.
I'd love to start to get new military technologies too, but we can't reach anything meaningful any time soon.
I'm actually wondering if maces are a worthwhile approach -- have people been successful with RtR's new maces? Optics for fast caravels is also an option. We also may want Monarchy too, so we can get a government in a Golden Age, though if we land the MoM that won't be a top priority. Anyway, it'll be a few turns before I need to decide that.

I forgot to mention this, but I also want to slip in cheap Monotheism for (1) the +25% bonus to hammers for building the Parthenon, and (2) the +20% bonus to researching Monarchy.
Krill has been able to build the Parthenon for ages, but the other two Aesthetics wonders are clearly higher priority for his overall strategy, and we might be able to nab it the way Coeurva managed to get the Great Library.
We can research Construction to start some catapults -- I forgot about that. We can do that fairly cheaply at any time.
For military builds: I feel horse archers/knights just aren't nearly as valuable as they ordinarily would be -- we're Aggressive, this is a mostly water map, and we have circumnavigation. How strongly do you feel about that?

dtay just whipped a ton of cities for 1 pop each -- he's probably whipping up a wave of triple-promoted axes and swords to go beat up on someone.
No double-whips, so I don't think he's sending troops by sea. Even then, he may go after either neighbor: JR4 (getting bitten into by Gavagai) or yuris125 (still much farther behind).

Still t128:
Okay, GermanJoey did declare war on us; he landed 2 swords, a phalanx, and a spear near Portsmith, which has a shock sword and CG1 archer garrisoned in it. That will only hold if we get lucky on defense.
I'm ... not at all sure what to do about this. We don't really have any extra force in the area to deal with this. If I just make peace with GermanJoey if he takes the city, that will only encourage a third player to do the same, so I think we should avoid that, but I'm not sure how to go about handling that.
I'm now not so sure pushing economy so very hard was the right move, but hindsight being 20/20 and all that.
(I can't change/whip anything until t129, and I wasn't producing walls there, anyway.)
Any chance you can log in and see what I can do?
(I'll have to turn on auto-promote to have reasonable odds of winning on defense. "Reasonable odds" is something like one in three.)

It's clear I screwed up the politics here. Ah well; I'm still unclear on just how this is even supposed to work.

t129:
Polytheism is in, but I don't think I can continue onto Aesthetics or Monotheism at the moment. I'll have to move on to Machinery, needed for too many other things. I can sandbag by building up some gold first in case I change my mind.
I didn't notice this before, but one of the swords GermanJoey landed is City Raider II, which makes Portsmith's fall all but certain.
I suppose the next game I play should involve actually defending later cities I plant, shouldn't it.
I'm going to have to prepare to whip multiple triremes on the coast.
I get the distinct feeling building the Mausoleum will just encourage our neighbors to attack us so they can get it, but we have to try to salvage our game somehow. We'll get at least one Golden Age out of it!
