Kudos to Carthage. Also I think we will be burning everything down.

Useful map info...but couldn't we have had resource markers turned on? huh Still, thanks to Carthage for their help.

France's copper is connected to their capital, so spears will be getting built in Paris and the second city (Orleans?). Unless France are complete idiots they have not fallen for our rather transparent excuses, and our chariots are likely to have a very rough time attacking. frown High casualties are likely.

If I was really paranoid, I would think this was a set up, and HRE will come across our border with axes and spears as soon as our chariot force dies at Lyons. rolleye

And what is up with the re-re-load? France mis-moved a warrior? And then disappeared and did not complete their turn after requesting the re-re-load? huh

Thanks, Reagan!

I sometimes wonder if no one is commenting because we are boring, or because they are all laughing at how completely inept we are and our rapidly impending doom. rolleye

Or I could just be having a depressing day and be feeling paranoid. But what are the chances of that? lol

We're not "completely inept." It's impossible to do that and have had #1s in Food, MFG, and GNP at the same time. Now, are we missing something? Maybe. We'll see.

Whenever we've asked questions of lurkers, you guys have answered quickly. I think it's more that they're trying to avoid asking questions of us for fear of spoilers. And we spam the thread quite a bit, so there's a lot to read.

Um... don't roads need to be in borders for native resources traderoutes?

Roads in neutral territory are fine.
I'm not sure about roads through opposing territory.

More like you guys cover everything so thoroughly, there's really no need to ask questions.

Roads work just fine outside borders. The only trade connection that doesn't work in neutral territory borders is rivers or water tiles when you don't have Sailing. Trade connections through opposing territory work as long as you are not at war. (Open Borders with the opposing civ is irrelevant.)

Ah nuts. Yeah, we'll be able to get Lyons by attrition possibly. We should WB 1 and 2 spears if we haven't already. Judging by their stalling ths turn, they know something is up from atleast Krill. They can probably put 2 and 2 together and figure out us and HRE are going to be involved.

I wonder if it is panic mode right now? From the posts in the IT thread and the last post of their thread, they are having a little discussion with everyone. We'll know if the turns start going long.

It helps us that France has not had copper hooked up very long. Not being in slavery, even Paris will take several turns to build a spear. And then they will need several turns to move that spear to Lyons. Chopping could accelerate things a bit, but the turns to move the spear would still be necessary.

I think we definitely want an archer or two moving up after the chariot force. Spears may arrive from the east as we attack Lyons, or very shortly after. Having a non-mounted unit which gets defensive bonuses to help protect our wounded chariots may be extremely important.
