Imperium 44 - haphazard gets an incomplete

Unfortunately I did not manage to complete this game in time. I hope to get back to it and finish at some point, as Psillycyber had given us a very interesting scenario...not to mention a truly amazing land grab.

After just over 100 turns the council had not yet met, but I expected the first convening would not be delayed much longer. The Psilons were grabbing world after world across the north of the map, and I was finishing taking control of much of the south. Of course, they had far, FAR more population than I did.....

Like Ianus I managed to scout Nordia and Seidon on the same turn and thus only got one tech. I was more fortunate on the result, however, getting Fusion Bombs for my troubles. I did colonize both worlds first.

Yeah, the landgrab potential on this map was truly outta this world; that's why I felt like this unique map just had to be made into an Imperium challenge. The human player is really rewarded for playing to the Silicoids' strengths on this one.

The one drawback of this setup, though, was the galaxy being large and the human player inevitably having to manage so many planets and meticulously daisy-chain so many slow Silicoid transports in the early game, which takes a lot more time....

There was a lot of management due to the large galaxy and all the available planets. There was always another world needing a colony ship, and some more seed pop...and where to find some available population for seeding? This game really does put the rocks' qualities -- positive and negative -- front and center.

Having the two artifact planets spaced where they could get scouted on the same turn was just cruel. At first I thought the Psilons had beaten me to one of them, until I remembered the issue -- it happens so rarely.
