Any chance we could put a lurker civ on the map and get people to report on it? Would Sulla have the free time, since AI survivor is about to wrap up?
Obviously players like me wouldn't be able to read it while playing, but it'd keep other people engaged (and the lurkers could always sub temporarily).
You'd probably need to add a "don't attack the lurker civ" rule.

Why, it's not like someone would paradrop inside the lurker civ and take it out

I'm strongly against a lurker civ after PB18. I don't think it added much to the reporting and it slowed the game down. Besides, whatever happened with observer mode?

Alternatively just give whoever does the most consistent reporting a couple of hundred great spies at the start of the game.

I'm pretty sure new RtR has an observer mode that makes a lurker civ unnecessary.

Why not have sullla just play the game?
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

Because when the lurker civ doesn't end turn, it slows it down for everyone else.
The observer mode is coded, but there is no front end to view it. Caledorn asked for it to be disabled (in the XML there is an on/off switch) because it eats bandwidth.

I like how sulla got volunteered to write a massively time consuming report on a huge game he's not even involved with. :D

Hey everyone, I'm going to have to back out on this game. Good luck to everyone that's going to take part.
