Yes I'm good - thanks everyone!

Hi guys,
I'm not going to be able to continue in this game. I thought I was over the busy period but it's not getting any less busy and I have exams in about a month. I'm really sorry to pull out. I tried to hold out but I think it would affect my real life commitments, particularly my Masters exams, if I continue.
I'm going to post in the main thread here to see if anyone who is relatively unspoiled can play and I can ask on civfanatics shortly if there is no uptake here. But if any of you guys know anyone that might be able to take over, please ask.
Sorry again I'm not hanging in there.

No problem shady - it's been a good ride but RL is more important.
Broker has the game paused. I have not finished my turn but that's fine - I can finish it when we have a replacement - I'm just mentioning it here so we don't unpause without me.

Hi all,
All three RBP games will go down for a bit tonight...probably in 2 hours or so. I'm moving my hosting PC from my apartment (lease ends tomorrow) to my house. I think because I use the gotdns service you shouldn't notice anything except downtime while I move the PC.

Ok, finally got everything unpacked, and yes it is 6:00am (and I have to "wake up" in 30 minutes )
Pretty major issue - aside from my Verizon FiOS router being harder to figure out than I anticipated, I apparently have a DOA host PC. It only moved about 30 minutes by car, and wasn't smashed or anything on the way, but until I can figure out what wire got unhooked on the motherboard or what component failed I'm afraid we're kind of stuck here.
Anyways, my apologies. This hosting PC has made about 6 months of hardware uptime, and it sucks that something apparently failed the day I moved it, even if it makes sense.
I'll give you guys an update when I can work on the PC tonight. If I can't find a quick fix I'll look into finding a temporary replacement host.

Pleased to meet you!
I'm Alex and it seems I will be picking up the reins from shady as Willelm of the Persians.
As far as I'm concerned, I am very much continuing shady's good work. His game is my game and his friends are my friends, so this is not a complete reset of diplomacy. That said I will still put my own spin on things as the game advances, and I am sure some of my decisions will be different.
I will not see the game nor make any binding promises until sunrise has got his move out of the way (fingers crossed the computer will eventually be fine). However if anyone wants to introduce themselves and possibly give me a 'gentle reminder' of how unfriendly we are, my e-mail address is

Ok guys, after a new power supply and about 3 hours inside the Verizon router's software control panel, I think we're back online. Please let me know any technical issues you run into and thank you so much for your patience with all of this.

Great news that the game's back up. I hope the rest of your move is under control as well.
I've successfully logged in and looked around, but I did get a message I wasn't expecting just before I picked my leader: "Warning: our versions of the game files do not match our host's." I thought I had a standard install, but I can always re-install if necessary. I assume we're playing this with the latest patch, no unofficial patches, and no mods?

Yes, I think that's all correct. Do you have a downloaded copy of the game? I seem to recall that even legit downloaded copies had some issues with file version warnings.
