I did not know that! Lol, that's so op. Focus magic plus supreme light, and everything gets the bonus.
Also, gone back to my roots. Myrran lizardmen, using javelineers to kill everything. Conveniently, the only sorcery so is peaceful, so no guardian wind or dispelling wave.
Any suggestions on what to do when I eventually go to war with him? I know one answer is simply to kill him quickly before he has guardian wind sky drakes or storm giants, but I specifically want to come up with other ideas.
Also, magicians are not a problem. I just go hit them in the face.

Just a guess but it probably does not work with Focus Magic.
Heroes are the best solution to pure Sorcery, everything else pretty much gets blocked by Spell Ward or other defensive spells. I think we discussed this not that long ago, but I don't remember my answer anymore.

Actually I've decided it's not an issue. Guardian wind isn't going to be cast before things like magic immunity or blue. So sky drakes won't matter. So only storm giants are a problem. But, I think that a unit of javelineers should kill a storm giant. Hum. Maybe not. Oh well. I've been amusing myself with Torin to see how strong I can get the javelineers (one shot sky drakes on average at this point), and Torin can take 9 storm giants by himself. I think. As long as they shoot some javelineers. I suspect 23 lightning bolts would be dangerous.

Storm giants have missile immunity.

Yes that's what I'm talking about. If an unhurt javelineer melees a storm giant, they'll one shot it. But the storm giants can get enough ranged attacks in the javelineer probably wouldn't win in melee.

So this is generic After Action Report thread, right?
I just started all out hero spam build. Warlord, artificer, famous, charismatic, tactician. For the remaining picks I took Omni and one of each book. Race is high elves. Expert, all fair.
In first attempt I had bad starting island and after losing my army on non scouted ruin that had more night stalkers than I hoped I restarted instead of savescumming. Second run is more promising.
Cities locations are not so great, after scouting for long I settled on two high pop silver spots that got corrupted immediately. A site with desert gems and crystals was found much later.
Traded enchant item for hellhounds and war bears, not sure why I thought I need both.
Famous and charismatic works well. I got orc magicians, druid and wind mage this way. I also got Draconian prisoner from ruins. I did not create any items yet, but with tactician and warlord they are powerful even naked.
Druid with his massive ritual master is a huge buff to economy. I consider giving him skill save and mana items and turning him into full caster. Stoning is nice and I hope to discover more curses.
Noble Draconian is also good for economy. In combat he is more than capable of manfighting a single nightstalker. Also good for scouting.
Wind mage is also great. He makes my longbows fly. And once he levels he will give them extra attack. He is more of a utility hero so I may make him a ranged attacker or caster items.
What do you think should be the priority for item enchants? Druid first? Or maybe Draconian? Wind mage is more of a leader so I guess lower priority.
Update: lost my wind mage and druid, but got a solid replacement. I got Morganne with a staff of planar travel (and lightning, defence and attack which is not important). Sent her to Myrror and got Serena (550XP!) as prisoner from poorly guarded lair. With cheap enchanted amulets the two ladies have around 100 mana each and with tactician they are very hard to scratch for gargoyles and nagas from lairs and ruins. I said hello to green Myrran wizard, he remained neutral. I want to find a neutral city and expand from there.
On Arcanus blue got defeated and purple declared war on me. Purple is below me in graph, but my whole army is longbows and she loves to put guardian wind on everything. I think I will passively defend for now while focussing on progress on Myrror. I have 3k gold to rush buy anything I need.
If I win this I will try the same on master difficulty.

I will soon start the next test game for Dark Elves - the race seems pretty good to me so this will be the last one.
So far I did mono-death, and mono-chaos twice.
Any suggestions for the next game? (If not, I'll either do nature or sorcery, unsure what map and difficulty)

Mono sorcery, do focus magic nagas for offense, DE units for defense.
