Yeah, that might be a good idea. Was going to team with Chumchu in PB 38 until real life took over, although life should be much more stable now. If any experienced (or not) players want to take part in a game but are worried they won't have time, I'd love to have them on as a teammate (I can play the turns or not, i don’t mind) if nothing else than to bounce idea off of, and/or warn me if I'm about to commit a big multiplayer no-no.
But even if not I'd still like to join.

If you guys end up doing a PBEM, I'm all for it. I am a complete noob with regards to high-level civ 4 MP though, pretty much my only experience is following along with most of the previous PB and PBEM here.
Pitboss is a no for me, turntimers stress me out, even very generous ones. And I just can't commit to turns every single day.

I'd play PBEM but I'd prefer BTS standard, mostly because then I don't have to mod the game/run through wine.

Our PBEMs aim for a turn every day too. One possible option is for you to play with a teammate.

I'm okay with that too, though I meant more as in: I'll try my hardest to get a turn every day, but sometimes RL gets in the way.

When RL gets in the way, you can always request a pause in a pitboss. No one will begrudge you unless it happens every other day

I'd dedlurk one of the first-timers in this - in a "comment every day or so" kindof way.

@JR4 - I suggest closing sign-ups and moving on to next steps (agreeing on settings, looking for mapmaker, etc) this weekend, before people start losing interest. As far as I understand, we aren't agreed even on fundamental settings, such as Pitboss or PBEM, and BtS or RtR

Hmm if it starts so soon then I am going to back out, reporting on the civ 6 pbem's is more than enough for me for now. Will lurk with interest though!
