Bomb (Shelters) away!!!

I'll get another GP out of Forest Park next turn

Hoping for a non-scientist. I'll hire one more scientist as the turn gets closer to rolling, to get Ecology next turn.

And here's the aftermath at The Hospital

I hope you've got money coming in from Sunrise.

Is that yellowish cloud the fallout? Looks like he only got two tiles of fallout? Did he lose many units?

Is it possible to nuke a tile with an ICBM or only cities?
I have to run.

@rego How is the internet going?

@ovice yes the yellow cloud is the fallout and afaik you can nuke any tile you want except your own land and maybe tiles directly bordering your land(not sure on that one)

First @Rowain - it's going fine. Due in 3 turns Munro's also due in 3 turns. I expect to get nuked so I won't complete.

Broker actually said that he would not nuke me if I agreed not to build the Internet, but I declined.

Yes - sunrise should give me money when he logs in (edit: I checked and he did)

The yellowish cloud is fallout and only 2 tiles apparently. I don't think he lost any units but they're all damaged. From my understanding of nukes each nuke does about 50-80 HPs of damage, so 1 nuke doesn't kill much but 2 will kill just about everything.

You can nuke anything, but not your own units or tiles. That is why Elkad declared war on Broker last turn. He told me that he wanted to wait 1 turn, but needed to get his fleet inside Broker's territory so he couldn't get nuked.

Now, Munro could hypothetically declare war on Broker and nuke Elkad's fleet.

Okay logged into the game real quick. My golden age is done, though I may kick off another one this turn, if I feel like it.

Spinning the roulette wheel of Great Person generation in Forest Park got me....

Giacomo Casanova, the Great Spy!!

So yay on 2 fronts. 1) That's not a scientist and will allow me to (hopefully) kick off 3 GAs during the rest of the game by collecting 9 GPs. Or 2), I could use him to infiltrate someone (or scotland yard, depending on the calcs on how many turns I think there are left in the game). I was reminded of the ol' Espionage Economy yesterday, and I definitely want to think about that. I have most of the EP generating buildings in place (Mausoleums, Intelligence Agencies, Security Bureaus), and because I used the spy bomb on Exploit earlier in the game, my total EPs generated for the game are higher than most everyone elses (so I get some good modifiers). And obviously there are techs out there that I don't have (Fission, Rocketry, Medicine, etc). Something to think about.

I am currently at 1437 beakers per turn. I would assume I make about the same in EPs if I turned the slider up to 100%. I am definitely teching better than anyone else at this point. I currently have myself parked on Superconductors due in 6 (though really I'm likely to choose Fission, due in 4 or Rocketry due in 3). Broker is on Robotics (8) and TT is on Satellites (7), but they have both already put in a turn of research.

Broker just revolted to Police State last turn, so his research is cut drastically.

Next GP in 7 turns if I stay out of GA, or 5 turns if I kick it off again.

I currently have 2 Scientists, the spy, an artist, and a merchant that Sunrise is marching my way.

Okay - in that case the nuking of The Hospital seems fairly pointless? It does delay the persian army, of course.

While we're at it, how do tactical nukes work? Cheaper nukes with limited range?

I think the point was the delay. If he had more nukes, he probably woudl have used them. But he only got Rocketry the turn before.

Even creating 1 500 hammer ICBM in one turn was pretty impressive (and I believed used forestry). He may have a few more this turn.

And Tac Nukes yes, I think that's about right. Never used one myself. I think they have to be detonated off a carrier or from one of your cities with range 4? Not really sure

Tac nukes are missiles and can be carried by a Submarine or Missile Cruiser. The explosion is the same as that of an ICBM. A tac-nuke also has a 50% chance to evade SDI that an ICBM does not have.

As expected, my Internet building city of Mason was nuked last night

[Image: civ4screenshot0129.jpg]

I was a bit confused by the 32 point drop in score, since I was under the impressions that wonders could not be destroyed by nukes, and 32 points would be way too much for a few pop.

[Image: civ4screenshot0130.jpg]

Apparently at least National Wonders are not immune, as it got the Iron Works. I know I lost my granary too and let's look what else

* Granary
* Harbor
* Iron Works
* Coal Plant
* Grocer

Perhaps 1 or 2 others that I can't see in my previous picture. Kinda stinks.

Though I guess losing the IW is okay since it allows me to rebuild it in a city that won't have to be rebuilding through fallout-ing.

I have a few thoughts on how I'm going to handle this diplomatically. I doubt any of them will be that effective but I'll keep you posted
