Yeah, not enough cottages to work, and whipping out the worker allows us to work the silver a turn earlier as well.

Given our intercontental micro discussions would likely slow the game down now that all but us & Rome have ended turn, I decided it was better to regret the things you've done than the things you've not done, so I reconfigured Sirian & whipped Uberfish.
I'll also ask Carthage for a gift of their spare furs.

T81: Overflow of whipped worker at Uberfish goes into Library. Whipped worker from Uberfish helps build a mine on the silver, and needs a name. Satisfaction stays put to heal (although feel free to move him if you prefer).
City of Paint it Brown founded on Brown dot. We're now at -26 gpt at 100% science. I've reduced science to 0% and we're at +19 gpt.
Two barb warriors have appeared outside Blake. Next turn one will probably move onto the horses and another to the Copper. Ronnie stays put to heal, and will be able to attack either Warrior next turn if they advance. We could promote him and he would probably heal completely this turn. Marianne will finish the Jungle road next turn, which would let Bill (Paint it Brown's garrison) attack a warrior on the Copper.

Are we going to whip the barracks this turn? If we wanto to play safe, then we should put hammers in a unit this turn in case the RNG is cruel to Bill & Ronnie next turn.

Had a chat with England, and said we'd let them know when we've whacked the barbs at Blake on T82 (they have to move in the 1st 3rd of the turn). He's also been calculating barb axe arrival time, and makes it to be T90, so we better keep our chariot close to home.

Chat with England:
Quote:22:26
Haphazard1,: so, have you looked at your barb situation?
because Conan will be healed next turn
but I want to send him SW
to meet the Aztec
22:27
me: yeah, we should be OK unless some more appear S of Paint it Brown
I requested Monarchy in game btw
Haphazard1,: I thought I sent it?
22:28
ok, I'll log in
and check up on France's moves, anyway
22:29
me: we're not in any great hurry
so don't sweat it
22:31
Haphazard1,: I count 2 barb warriors @ Blake
and you have a warrior and a skirm
that I can see
Monarchy gifted
22:32
me: we have a skirm at Brown and the road will be done next turn
thanks for Monarchy
22:33
Haphazard1,: np
22:36
we have to move in the first part of the turn
and probably want to use your road network
22:37
so can you let me know when you've killed the barb that's going to be on the copper?
22:38
me: shouldn't be a problem
22:39
Haphazard1,: at least, I assume he'll be on the copper. If he's on the unroaded tile
me: depending on when the turn rolls one of daniel or me plays pretty soon afterwards
Haphazard1,: he's no threat next turn
Rego gave me coords: Aztec's capital is 11W14S of Blake
22:40
so we'll be passing through Brown
me: No chance of finding Aztec scouts then?
22:42
Haphazard1,: he's got one heading for the Maya
but 11W14S isn't that far
5-6t
with a chariot
especially since we'll see culture
and are sentry
22:44
me: Sentry will help with the barb-dodging
Haphazard1,: yep
22:45
if he gets to 10XP
will probably take Flanking II
oh, FYI: Gib's going to be up to 4cpt in a few turns
assuming all goes well
me: we're just starting Sticky's library now
22:46
Haphazard1,: ok
me: so we should be able to hold our 1st ring on that side
Haphazard1,: Gib's our fastest spot to build TGW; don't tell anyone
it has the forests
22:47
and we've got stone coming online soon
22:48
me: what's your main reason for building it? Spy for a GA?
Haphazard1,: no
barb protection
me: you getting plenty incoming?
22:49
Haphazard1,: we will
as France dies
for 75h, it's not hard to justify
especially with axes coming in soon
22:50
me: when will axes start anyway?
Haphazard1,: very soon
any turn now
really
when the barbarian civ learns BW
and they learn a tech at 3% per turn * number of civs who know it / number of civs
22:51
so, 30t
after everyone learned BW
but, people learned BW at varying points
heh, France will really hate the barbs
if axes start showing up
they only have spears and warriors
22:52
and no copper
or Archery
me: assuming krill traded in BW that's T92, no?
Haphazard1,: no, sooner
because it's averaged long-term
so, when we learned BW on like T25
that started affecting things right away
22:53
me: ah I see
Haphazard1,: it's complex, because rounding errors creep in
but T90 is the latest
me: we better bring a couple of chariots back home
22:54
Haphazard1,: yeah
at least skirms are ok against axes
22:55
me: city defence only though
chariots to keep resources hooked
Haphazard1,: right
or, skirms on forests
but, ideally
forests go choppity-chop
22:56
me: don't have so many of those in desert-Mali
Haphazard1,: but FPs are worth the trade?
me: No: too much desert in our hinterland
22:57
Haphazard1,: right, that sucks
if there were more rivers, however
like, Gulliver's south of Babylon
and where he's standing
a city would have: 12 FPs, a plains, a desert hill on the river
and that's it
Drafting Globe, or GP Farm, anyone?
22:58
me: Yes, please.
Haphazard1,: our land makes for solid cities
but nothing capable of being either of those
me: Well Animal Farm ain't too shabby
22:59
Haphazard1,: aye
AF is a gorgeous site
but it's not a specialized GP spot
it's general commerce/production
well, post-Levees, lots of production
me: Ideally 2nd city though
GP farm is for later on
23:00
Haphazard1,: right
I'm less interested in a GP farm
than I am in a Globe drafter
especially as England
me: If Blake & Sirian were river linked I'd be happy with the land
23:01
but as-is it's just too dry
Haphazard1,: the river networks are...weird
I really dislike having 1 region be all desert
and the rest of the map not
balance is impossible
me: indeed
23:02
Haphazard1,: I'm off to class
23:04
me: bye for now
Very bad news for us that England is planning Great Wall in Gibraltar because Sticky Fingers will get severely squished and there's not much we can do about it

Owing to lack of feedback, I decided to make the conservative play at Blake and put a Skirmisher in fron of the barracks. Switched Brown to a Granary, and named our new worker Chrissie (Shrimpton). We got Monarchy from England and I ended turn. No word back from Carthage yet about getting their spare furs.
PS: I've put two links in the first post of this thread for unit, city & worker naming

T82 Partial Report
Carthage gifted us Furs :woohoo:
Barbs whacked at Blake, though I did promote Ronnit to Combat I to be safe (he was at 3.5 health), and road complete to Paint It Brown. Barracks whipped at Blake. Road completed and forest chopped at Sticky Fingers. Library whipped for 3 pop at Sirian, and Silver now being worked.
We had a barb forking Sirian & Uberfish, so I moved Black down from Sticky as you can see:
Out of shot, Jack has moved towards Sticky to cover.
I didn't move the worker yet as I wanted us to consider the options: Uberfish's borders pop in three turns, so we want to get workers onto the Rice ASAP. This turn we could send the unmoved worker to
a) complete the road 1W of Uberfish,
b) move 1NE and road, bringing Charlie out of Uberfish to cover, or
c) move south to the unmined roaded hill en route to Brown to chop the jungle dyes in anticipation on Calendar.
I think © would be the best option because two workers will be enough to get the rice online quickly and we needn't take the risk of an unlikely defeat in (b) and (a) is just busywork.
We met India, so I requested Masonry from them, but I didn't use Lucky's 2nd MP as I will ask India whether they want us to whack the barb warrior.

Hi Guys,
We're at your borders and were wondering whether you'd like us to take out that barb for you.
We've requested Masonry in game, so please of OBs if you want that barb whacked.
Best Wishes

I think you mean 1E and 1NW. I think option c is fine though.

I looked in the civilopedia and The Great Wall only provides +2 culture. So I think we'll be OK in Sticky fingers if they don't build a bunch of other cultural buildings in Gibralter.
I logged in and accepted OB with India.
