Actually the King can then go to h5 so you have to put the Knight on g3

I assume you mean g6 and not d6 ? But then the king can go back to g7 right ?

Yeah g6...and yeah, that's true...then I think you need to go Nh5 and that's checkmate.

So I've taken this advice and for the most part its been great.  I have one game where I have clearly won but the turn timer is infinite and the guy just won't make a move, that's annoying.  This happened to me today:

1. Have a book with openings out.
2. Have an engine active on some device.
3. Have Magnus Carlsen in the room next to you telling you what to play. Somewhat like #2, but harder to tell if your level of play is high enough otherwise.

(Some people earnestly think that these are not detectable.)

There is also a debug mode on lichess. You have to type "chipotle" into the chat. This gives you access to the secret piece, the archbishop, which can move like a knight and bishop at once, except if your IP is located in Fulda or Cammin, which are exempt.
