RB Pitboss #1 SPOILER - Hatshepsut / India

Nukes are lame.

It is so easy to build a shed load and start throwing them around willy nilly - If I were in your posiition I would be just as excited! Yay....

Yeah you have my sympathy - I can't blame you at all for being less than excited about the game now... What are the odds that we'll get a "drop dead" email out of you soon?

LOL.

I'll save that for after I win anyways.

Watching your civ that you've build up over hundreds of hours get torn apart over the space of a few turns by "destroy anything, no counters, insta-kill" weapons has to be overwhelmingly disheartening, and pretty godawful depressing. You have my sympathies.

It it's any consolation, though (probably not), this is the only reported game I've ever seen anywhere that has covered multiplayer nuclear warfare. Aside from reading your thread, I have no idea what it's like to be on the receiving end of a nuclear barrage, or how to survive one, or how human players pick human targets... I'm not sure that I've ever seen the AI even nuke each other before.

So thanks for the learning experience, anyway! alright smile

It is strange: On one hand there is so much (idiotic) global warming in the game when you are peacefull on the other hand you can throw around nukes like no tomorrow without getting an heavy nuklear winter.

Edit @Bob... I have seen AI using nukes but they usually only target cities (which is less efficient than nuking terrain/stacks).

Proposal from Broker

Quote:To the Honorable Indian Empire

Our proposal is to reduce the wholesale destruction that has been occuring.

We would agree to a ban on the Strategic use of Nuclear weapons.

Existing stockpiles would only be available for tactical use. Including any you may build prior to a ban being in effect as you are close to rocketry.

In return we would require that you (and your allies) vote for the nuclear ban at the first opportunity. I understand that Elkad may defy anyway but we would hope you would exercise any control you have over that. The removal of his uranium source may motivate him.

In addition we ask that you allow us to disconect your uranium (via spy not nuke) to cancel the deal with elkad and that you withhold fission from Alex until the ban is in effect.

We will not hinder your reconnection of uranium once the deal is canceled and will cease the targeting of your research and mfg base with strategic attacks.

So we all agree that AP victories are kind of lame. Just like the general consensus has been that nukes are kind of lame.

So one abuse of a broken game mechanic deserves another, right???

Sunrise and I worked out a deal and the RNG has smiled on me and he will be voting for me.

I just talked to Alex and he only feels bad aout Elkad, so is going to try and chat with him in the next 2 hours or so and if he doesn't hear from him, going to vote for me.

He also said he'd put something in his lurker thread. But of course lurkers probably can't comment on whether he should vote for me or not, right? lol But if you do comment, make sure to tell him to vote for me lol

Some weirdness on the timing - the popup for me to choose came up this turn (T238 I believe) and I was expecting everyone to get a vote popup NEXT turn (T239), but apparently it pops up right away. I got it (voted for myself) and Alex got it right when he logged in. I assume TT would too.

But I guess that everyone else would get it on T239 (next turn), probably even if we had the votes on T238?

And obviouslyshhh on this in the other threads!!!!

Logged in and tried to maximize city growth in cities. Also dealt with the nuke damage. Found my spare wheat was nuked, so I was -2 healthy in every city - had to cancel my gift to sunrise

Also found this little surprise - Munro doesn't have uranium, so he's getting it from Dreylin. I guess this makes me feel a little less bad for Dreylin, who to date has not nuked anyone. But hey at least he feels bad (-18!!!) about it lol

So what happens if you lose the vote?
