Man that barb eff up was just killer. I lost so many hammers. The granary, the pop, the food saved up the 20 hammers in the skirmisher. If I hadn't had such a brain fart... I might actually have been able to turn this around. It's kind of astonishing but I have 6 cities, I have a gems source. I have 6 cottages down, GNP was 2nd last turn at 66. I am on pace to finish a 4t colossus. EOT87. Mints in 2 cities so far whip another next turn.
I dunno, maybe I'm not that far off the lead as I think. I'm actually starting to feel some misguided hope. A little of that old Lewwyn bustem up.

Eff me. Eff you depression island...
Latest city is R.E.M.

By the By, I'm still at war with DZ even though I don't have any intention of attacking him right now. In fact, I don't think I want to go to war for a long while. I think I might just start building a ton of settlers and cities. If I land colossus I should just build a ton of fishing villages and power my way forward. tons of little shitty cities. The power of fertilizer...
DZ moved 4 axes out of his horse city. 100 bucks they are on that newly roaded forest SW of his city. Silly DZ thinks he can snipe my warrior by roading the grass tile and hitting him, but I moved my warrior away. I think he wants (and he should) settle on that desert hill where he can get the fish you see in the south. Not much I can really do about. I couldn't settle it without access to the fish, useless for me. If he moves his axes over there and far enough away from his horse city I can hit his horse city in 2t. The grass tile NW of the horse has 1 turn of road into it. The units would probably get killed after they razed the city, but hey could be fun.
Comm I'm feeling poorly about my chances of conquering DZ before cats at the very least.
DZ has teched masonry and is now teching hunting.
BTW you see in my screenshot the civ list there? I can get the full list? and teh scores? I think I hit some hotkey and changed it and now I don't know how to change it back. Either that or its part of the new server? I dunno. Help please. I'm just a poor boy, nobody loves me, spare me this life from this monstrosity...

BTW Krill keeps calling this a test game in the tech thread. I hope we're grading this on a curve.

I wasn’t following all the tech changes with the server move but I think somehow we combined Ramkh’s native mod with the rtr versions. The civ list is now only civs you’ve met, but the civ stats analog will still give us the scores for everybody.
There is no way to peace. Peace is the way.

Thanks
I've made peace with DZ. He offered and I couldn't see a good reason not to. I wasn't going to attack anytime soon and I can't really stop him from pasturing the horses, it's literally 1st ring of his capital. My path to mediocrity lies more with rapid city expansion. Besides the turn split was truly beginning to annoy me.
Exciting news. We have a 10xp skirmisher.
I don't think anyone else is going for the colossus. I think everyone is planning on early astro which obsoletes the colossus... Maybe I'll skip astro. I have an opponent next to me and I can reach all these islands easily with caravels. Ah well.
Demos?
Hey I'm not last in food? What? Maybe its DZ with only 4 cities. MFG ok. Land area is troubling. GNP is misleading as I'm teching writing with 2 prereqs.
New goal. Colonize my whole island and get my foodless silver. Manifest Destiny, westward ho.

Well now I feel bad. Apparently DZ lost a city somewhere in the fog. He no longer has copper. His power took a dive. Old Harry is poaching him. I missed it happening at the very end of turn 84. Not used to the new PBtracker... I could have taken horse city from him likely. I'll have to keep an eye on the situation. It might be in my best interest to go after him again in 10 turns...if OH hasn't eaten him all up.
Ugh. Regret. Depression. My home island.

My position is not so desperate I think. I see the fruits of labor. Soon they will ripen.
Tomorrow I fly back to America, if we can get another turn rolled in 16 hours before I get on the plane I won't need a pause.
