[Spoiler] PB42: Rusten and mackoti play Krill playing Bismarck of Portugal

I'm pretty sure revolting 2 civics costs 2 turns of anarchy, doesn't it?

Unless the map is set to Huge, I agree. If it's Huge then there's a chance it would just be one, but you'd need to stop settling until after the revolt.

Map is set to large, so it's 2 turns. So looks like a none GA revolt to HR and Caste is out. Basic plan then is to get Monarchy and CoL, trigger the GA, revolt into HR and Caste, and then get into Bureau by the end of the GA. Which would be 5 turns into the GA, really, as no other techs would be needed at that point.

Serfdom is out, Caste is in, just need the spec slots too much. That simplifies everything, even if it means lower yield. The other point is that I still want to delay the GA until I can grow some pop in SW though. So I could fit in Aesthetics if I wanted to go for Parth (+75% build modifier means that it's still worth it compared to wealth builds).

Looking at Saving gold for T120 and possible T121, which would mean around 550 gold saved, a minimum of three turns of maximum research. Marble settled T124, and Parthenon needs Polytheism anyway, so...maybe complete Myst T121, Overflow into Polytheism eot122, complete Aesthetics with overflow in 1 turn eot123, settle marble and start Parth T124 and continue to save gold? But I really need to pop borders. Jesus.

Quite possibly need to just follow KISS principle. Ignore wonders, settle the last few cities, grow, kill someone.

I intended to play T121, but Lewwyn has to play after DZ and DZ is probably morning PB41, so I might not be able to report T121. May have to just add in screenshots from T120 and a worldmap from T120 later.

This post will be edited, to add in the screenshots tonight, but I will post when I am finished.

World Map

Tech

I want to try and grab Monarchy and CoL before triggering the GA, but I also want to try and grab Literature. I would like to push down both HE in the golden age: Industrial HE at BCR, and HE at WB. I also want to try for Parth because that will either give us some fail gold with marble production bonus, or to +50% gpp that will be important without MoM.

The tech path is fairly straight forward. T121 save gold. I will run max science and finish Myst T122, and T123 the same to complete Polytheism. T124 reduce the slider as low as necessary to complete Aesthetics with minimal overflow. T125 save gold on Priesthood. Because of settling new cities, there is a minimum 49 commerce coming in by T130 just from city tiles and new trade routes, so it is difficult to give a definite, but both Monarchy and CoL will be a minimum of 403 base beakers without the KTB. Both may come down to one turn techs at max tech, but go knows how bad costs are going to be with jumping up to 24 cities with no court houses.

After Aesthetics, just save gold. Grab Literature once there is 400 gold in the bank (with no overflow, it will be a 1 turn tech@80% I reckon. And once there is enough gold to get both Priesthood and CoL, and leave enough for a single turn of max tech as well, grab CoL. The excess gold is to get HBR in an emergency, it will be one turnable by T125 just from some of the trade routes.

Workers

The worker micro can be found here. It is not perfect, and some of it runs out in a few turns anyway, but not in important areas. Deviate from this as you see fit. Over in the east things will likely change as new workers are built anyway.

Cities

Let me preface this part of the post with a proviso: I do not have the ability to write detailed micro plans for every city or each worker (Ed: This was the first sentence I wrote of this post. Turns out I lied. Sorry). What I can provide are a list of rules for each city: ie grow to certain pop size, what infrastructure to build, when to build wealth etc. For the workers, I can give general orders on what I want each group of workers to do in each theatre. I am not bothered about perfect efficiency, there is no point in that anymore. Flexibility is much more important.

On top of that, You might reach the point where you can trigger the golden age. Again, I can provide the criteria for when that occurs: Both Monarchy and CoL need to be researched so it is possible to revolt into HR and Caste immediately, Literature needs to be researched and there needs to be enough gold saved to research to Civil Service and revolt into Bureaucracy by the end of the golden age. I believe that this will be around T132-ish, give or take a few turns.

ITM. ITM is simple: just keep on slow growing it to the happy cap, whatever that is, and continue to accumulate food to get ready to grow it larger. Once HR is in, just grow it. Put in all the obvious buildings, except the aqueduct, that can wait even if I will need it around size 15. Windmill the unique hills once Machinery is in, but IU don't think you will get that far.

LBJ and MtK.
The plan is to grow MtK up to size 10 (or 12 if we get the gold back) on all of the available food neutral tiles first. Once MtK reaches the chosen pop size, move the population over to the plains cottages, and let LBJ grow on the food neutral tiles; LBJ will still grow, but slowly, and onto the shared plains tiles so we can get them grown sooner.

tl;dr: Grow MtK to size 10 ASAP, then stagnate it whilst growing LBJ to size 10, and improve the overlapping tiles first. Build wealth after the market>forge builds complete. If extra happiness becomes available, then grow each city as needed before the golden age, but in a golden age, work the plains cottages over growth (unless a turn from growth when the GA is triggered).

There are 3 workers around these two cities, you will need all of them to cottage the plains tiles in time (and there is a single forest at MtK that needs to be chopped for a cottage, most likely into a court house). 2 of the workers will need to road over to City Z.

TX is subservient to AM until T125, and to ITM forever. The forests get chopped into a market. Build wealth when market is finished. Otherwise just work the tiles as they are available.

Kalamazoo.

Settler at size 9 eot124, settler goes to the city Z2 site. Then build Parthenon from T125 onwards. If Parthenon falls, reevalute the tech speed, but likely build wealth. Don't grow it further, but consider the food box expendable if food resources need to be moved around.

BCR. Goes onto wealth after the settler, with units as needed. Once Literature is in, build the Industrial HE here, using whatever is needed to get it down ASAP without compromising the Parth build if that is ongoing. Due to the lack of machinery or a decent happy cap, I'm not growing it further at the moment.

JJ.
Quite specific micro for this at first: grow@4 eot122. Use corn, 2 plains hill mine, furs, build settler, whip T127, and then overflow into the lighthouse. Complete the lighthouse rather than build wealth so there are actual 2 food tiles to work. After this settler, longer term plan is to just grow using whatever tiles can be scavenged from BCR, pop borders with caste artists at some point, and prepare for drafting and feitoria.

AM.
I swore not to whip AM or TX, but looking through the workers, and without Caste, we just need to get more workers. EXP+forge and a half full food box will work. Growth@4 eot121, growth@5 eot123, and then works horse, plains hill mine, plains cottage, plains farm and grass farm: 10base hpt, 16 adjusted hpt. Then build workers and give the corn and fp back to TX. These workers do not have allocated jobs, because I did the worker micro before the cities today. Workers would complete eot126 and eot129: please do not forget to label the workers as they are built (numerical order as they are built, city production order the tie breaker when built on the same turn).

Sing Sing Sing.
Archer>spear>settler@size 7, working both plains forests, completes eot128 for city C. Keep the spear in the city, send the archer to ST, and build an archer pair for SA after the settler please.

Smashing Thirds.

Grow to size 5 and double whip the market T125 and work both gems. Then probably just build an archer.

WoodchopperBall.

Bit more to this one. Grow to size 6 eot122, whip settler for island T124 (settler loads on galley T126). I need it to size 10 for the golden age, to work every hammer producing tile available (even if unimproved) to get the HE down in the golden age. Hold the overflow behind wealth until Literature is researched, then build HE. Happy cap is going to be 6 unless further happiness becomes available. Work the engineer if you have to, but save the forest chop to complete HE. The tile allocations I leave to you, but it should be possible to get teh HE down by the end of the GA even without worker attention.

Anvil Chorus.

Happy capped at size 7. Because of this, and it is further ahead of the curve, there is still the option to whip a forge. I also needed to get a market for the merchant slots, but given Caste is now a permanent fixture, meh. Forge first. Whip forge at size 5, then hold overflow behind wealth, because may want to whip a settler to settle on furs still: I know it's not ideal, but if you get an opportunity to trade the only furs for ivory or whale, gold or silver probably worth taking it with a player other than Gav, OT4E or superjm.

Night Wind.

Settler T122, whip T124, send to City S and settle T126. Dump overflow into a library, T128 build a worker, T129 double whip worker (this would be worker 21 I believe), dump overflow into the library. Don't whip the library.

Sold American.

Whipping the lighthouse T122. Growing: dependent on Parth, SA might make different great people. All options require population though. Although, probably do need to whip the forge or market (likely forge as cheaper and more happiness from that are likely to turn up). So forge after lighthouse please.

Stormy Weather.

Micro discussed previously is no longer valid. There will be a workshop built as well, so after Literature falls, library and Industrial National Epic please. Forge unnecessary, no whip unhappy to cover. Whip lighthouse T123, overflow into a library, whip that at around size 4, overflow into a workboat for the clams.

HawaianWarDance.

Lighthouse, whip at size 3, artists to pop borders. Grass hill gets mined as per worker MM. Nothing special here.

Melody in F.

Worker micro is specific here. Granary>Lighthouse>wealth>Courthouse, whip lighthouse at size 2 T127, grow, caste artists for borders. Cow after borders pop but I don't think you get that far whilst I'm away.

OK got it. Just to confirm, there's no turnsplits I need to be aware of?

There are no turn splits being observed except Donovan before Lewwyn that I am aware of (and If DZ wasn't aware of it before he is now).

Update as complete as it will get. I may be able to play a turn tomorrow if DZ and Lewwyn play tonight.

One last thing: Espionage needs to be leveled out at 43 on Gav, and then put on OT4E. He needs watching. I'm not convinced about his position. I think he is a really strong position and might do something right now.
