I dont particularly like either of those two options, just because i dont think im quite ready to deal with naval units and all their differences... But if i HAD to chose between those two, id go with map 1. just because map 2 has a bunch of extra HQ's that im assuming, mean extra buildings you must defend..

Probably not--it's only about a month old (it launched at the beginning of February). It's only $20 as well.

@Bob: It sounded like superdeath didn't want to play with a navy yet.

I just glanced over the naval units, and it seems like the battleship would go the way of spears, no real easy counter. Im fine being at a small disadvantage from the start, if someone else wants the turn 0 advantage? I really like the map i last put a code out for, although that one again.. doesnt account for 2v2 advantages.

I'm not particularly taken with any map, so whichever. I'm fine with either playing a non-naval map and at a slight disadvantage, or less of a disadvantage but having a navy. Or someone could do more digging through the roughly 900 four-player maps to find one where it's balanced, there's no boats, and the player order accounts for FTA. Whichever.

SD- for what it's worth, B-ships are countered by a fast-moving melee unit which costs like half as much. Harpoon ships are kind of OP against air units though.

interesting. Would it be alright for everyone to just pick a 4player map, and then we just /random and pick whatever map is random'd?

I don't think that would resolve much. We'd have the player order issue, and could end up with a map with a navy.

Rejoice however, for I have found two more maps which not only have the IDEAL player order, but also lack boats:

I think the first map could be fun.

I'm good with either of those.

And just so I understand, player order CAN be set to 1-2-2-1, but only if the map was created with that in mind. You can't adjust player order at all from the match settings page once the map is created. Is that right?

Also, I wonder if it's possible to edit an existing scenario. Like, find a good map, edit it to 1-2-2-1, and THEN setup a match.

Correct. I don't think you can edit an existing scenario directly, but you can recreate a map if you really wanted to.

I'm fine with whatever map we decide.
