Turn the 27th, where we have a whale of a time
By which, I mean we find some humpbacks off the coast
GKC founded, too, so we are at best 3rd to found.
I think I mentioned that we have Mr Cairo's graphs. We should have Ruff's next turn. Mr Cairo has slightly more power than us - that's from the extra pop point, I think.
I'll move our scout up to see what Mr Cairo is doing next turn. Predictions: he moves to copper. You have to be nuts to not settle copper first, right?

Turn the 28th, where we... wait... wait... found!!
This is, of course, named after wait wait don't tell me, which is quiz show on NPR in which kind of celebrities are asked questions about obscure and amusing news stories.
Plan here is to grow to size 2 and whip out a worker.
Meditation in 4 - I don't think anyone will beat us. it will land here and expand borders. I assume
In other news:
Krill declared on GKC. I assume this is not a hot war, unless GKC planted a city without an escort right next to a krill warrior.
The copper plant ran into a snag:
Gotta get a scout over there for the bear to suicide against.
I think we can plant by the cow, though - Mr cairo doesn't seem to be moving over that way. Mr Cairo isn't in slavery, so I guess he's slow building his settler.
Got graphs on Mr Cairo and Ruff- this is the power graph
I'm low in power compared to them, which is an issue.

Ah someone is enjoying the dotmapping tool. You do know that you can change the color of those?

yes. I use it a lot in BUFFY, the HOF/GoTM mod for CivFanatics. I just never bother with changing the color
It's a good tool.
is there anything that you are hoping gets tested more?

Turn the 29th
Well, not a lot. Found a fish to the west and there is no sign of a Mr Cairo settler.
Looks like we'll be able to settle the desert oasis/Cow site without any issue.
I have to figure out what to build next. I picked a settler, but I'm unsure between settler and worker. Pretty sure I'll go settler. We are going to want several workboat and the copper site will be a great place to build them.
This is a dotmap of our land, not including a city north for the ivory and a city on the island up there.
I have to admit, I feel a little like I've screwed up a bit, as we aren't going to get that corn for 20+ turns. Long term, it has to be on the coast. But probably worth it to get the peninsula and the gold.
The orange spot is pretty low priority, but where it is depends a lot on where Ruff settles that rice/ivory, if he settles before us. The rice is under jungle, so maybe he doesn't settle that for a long time, who knows.
I think after copper, it's workers and enough military to not look like a target. Red will be 4th, around turn 50, I think, which will be around when borders expand from wait wait the 2nd time and getting the corn in. Don't have a good sense for the others - orange, then yellow? ivory? not sure yet.

Not much. Settler moves, ready to found next turn... but then I realize it can't found next turn. it needs to wait till after med hits, which is 2 turns. Well, technically it doesn't, but I want Buddhism in WaitWait. That gets us the corn in 20 turns (or less, once I get a terrace)
The Krill/GKC war continues. Krill founded - Mr Cairo is the only one on 1 city still.

Turn 31
Not much in NPR-land.
Krill and GKC made peace.
Mr Cairo is in slavery, so I presume he's whipping his settler next turn. Seems kind of late.
Krill landed Hinduism (unsurprisingly), though I think he researched it faster than I did meditation. I guess that's what you get for focussing on hammers early and not creating a workboat. But then, a workboat is basically 1/2 a settler for me.
Med next turn, unless someone comes out of nowhere to snag it. Also, plant city #3, blocking off the peninsula.

Turn 32, Where Imperialistic makes a difference
Big turn - we settle DeliciousDish, which is of course not actually an NPR show, but the name of one of the show in one of the funniest SNL skits of all times. Alex Baldwin's Trump impersonation isn't very good or interesting, but Pete Shweddy was brilliant.
Anyway, first civ to 3 cities!!
Won't grow very much, but it will seal off the peninsula.
The imp trait is also saving us 1 gpt in maintenance. Our total is 4.72, rounded down to 4. Without the 10% off, it would be 5.28, rounded down to 5. So, go IMP!!
I set research to pottery - we'll get it in 6 or 7 turns. We can't really take advantage of fishing or hunting by then, cause we don't have many workers We have entered the time of binary research.
The farmers' gambit is on, now. Hopefully, no one calls our bluff (even though we have the worst military in the game) Mr Cairo has not settled his 2nd city yet. I think it is safe, though it's 8 turns to grow.
Demos

Turn 33
Pottery in 6 (1 more turn of gold, 5 turns of tech). Still not sure what is after that, hunting or fishing.
CarTalk gets a settler next turn ->worker. Getting it to the copper site might be a little complicated, with the bear. Do animals attack units on specials? I have the worker roading the copper and the scout on top of it, so hopefully the bear attacks it. If not, I'll have to send the settler to the top of the copper and then settle when the bear moves away
Waitwait grew to size 2 and I changed it to worker. 7 foodhammers means it's whippable in 3. I think I should move the quecha from waitwait and send it to deliciousdish. I can whip it if I need, but I don't think ruff is going to attack.
DeliciousDish grows in 6 turns. It will change to a granary.
Demos are understandably strong - 1st or 2nd in GNP, food, production. Last in soldiers. I think it's mainly most people have a 2nd warrior and hunting
MrCairo has still not founded his 2nd city. He switched to slavery last turn. I guess he's not whipping it out,but it's enroute and he switched to get anarchy while it was moving.
We'll see, obviously.

I should do fishing->pottery, not pottery->fishing. Pottery->fishing is 8 turns of teching, fishing->pottery is 6. I get pottery a couple of turns later, but I get everything else faster.
