RBP3 [Spoilers] Capac of Mali

Quote:Had a look at doing an 'Operation: Taj' to get Parthenon in a new-ish city, and rapidly binned the plan owing to cost/benefit ratio.

What do you mean by this? Wouldn't Operation: Taj be to build the Taj Mahal, not the Parthenon?
Reply

Operation Taj was from the Poly demogame where we chopped out the wonder in a new city.

T107 Report

Steel Wheels founded. Cost us 7gpt: ouch! Set to a granary for now, but I think we should build culture here once Music is in. It going to be mostly farms & mines, so we have little need for a Library. Thoughts?

Had Jerry road the forest, other workers farmed, cottage and roaded.

Other than that, the big news of the turn is that Cuddle have discovered CS and have been sharing it around. PAT got CS on T99, so we have a 8t BUR advantage.

I made a tactical mistake down south: I moved Poison Ivy before Inca logged in and moved their chariot:

So I moved Lucky Maya around to protect the city. She could take medic and heal up, or we could evacuate the workers. It all depends on Inca's move on T108, but I suspect they will head N/NW to reveal terrain. That being the case, we should wait to see their move and, if practicable, run the turn and double move our workers at end T108/start T109 to ensure their safety.

By founding our seventh city, we joined India, Ottomans and Inca in the C7 club. Most civs are at 6, with a few on 5, and Ruff on 4 alright

Suggested worker actions T108: Cyrinda (along with Jana & Carla) completes the corn farm at Steel Wheels, Jerry completes her road, L'Wren keeps on cottaging.

Suggested worker actions T108: Lady Jane moves SW to fogbust, Black (if healed) heads south, Mick moves towards Uberfish, Rooster heads south (Mick will take over MP duty in a couple of turns) because we're fully fogbusted in this region now.

These can all be done regardless of Inca's moves.

If the Inca chariot moves toward Ruby Tuesday: Marsha starts road and Ronnie moves onto it (allowing Ronnie to move into the city on T109). Chrissie & Bianca complete the cottage. Marianne heads over to Blake (where she can road the FP shared with Paint It Brown). Better to not expose our workers to a potential steal.

If the Inca chariot doesn't threaten Ruby then we can continue farming.

T108 Initial Report

Music discovered and, fittingly, Duke Ellington is born in Sirian band

Carthage asked for Music to build culture in a city, so I handed it to them. There's no need for us to pass round the tech unless specifically requested.

The units unaffected by Inca's actions have been moved. No barbs sighted by Black, so no HE for us just yet rolleye

PAT-on-the-back (ba-dum-cha!) email to the group:

Quote:Dear All,

A short email to review the achievements of the first PAT tech phase, and to look forward to the next series of technologies.

In phase one, PAT managed to:

1. Beat Cuddle to CoL (by a small margin) founding Confu,
2. Beat India to Great Library with a 1-turn-Wonder,
3. Discover Phlio & found Taoism,
4. Beat Cuddle to CS by 8 turns,
5. Beat Cuddle to Machinery,
6. Build Pyramids in 6 turns,
7. Beat Cuddle to Music.

In phase one, Cuddle managed to:

1. Beat PAT to Feudalism by 2 turns.
2. Beat PAT to Drama by 3 turns and counting,

We've really done a great job here, so whilst we mustn't get complacent, we should also avoid being too hard on ourselves when it seems tough to do everything we would like to achieve; we'll find a way to overcome any difficulties we encounter.

Well done, guys!

Best Wishes

Emperor Capac

Let's keep an eye on Civstats today to see what Inca gets up to, and then we can play the rest of our turn.

Lastly, can we try to ensure that the Governor is switched off, especially in larger cities? If left on, he will reassign citizens which could mess up any micro plans we have. Thanks.

Inca has played their turn. I moved Poison Ivy, and now the tactical situation is at least more balanced wink

Marsha is roading the tile that she and Ronnie occupy, allowing Ronnie to move into the city next turn.

So what to do? I'm thinking to move the two workers currently on the wheat onto the copper at Blake. On the following turn, they can road the FP, or even head up to the roaded grass forest hill to pre-chop. We can move X into the other FP and cottage for one turn, covering with Lucky Maya whom we promote to Medic. That way, Inca would have to attack across the river, and we'd avoid turn rollover cheese (and possible Inca DoW whilst we're making our moves).

If we really want to give Inca 'The Fear' we could move Jagger (Mace) and Tumbling (Spear) towards Kalin's Burgers.

Thoughts?

Don't we want to revolt to representation this turn?

Building a road on the floodplains south of Blake's copper doesn't seem that useful to me, and if we pre-chop the roaded forest south of Steel Wheel's corn, we'll lose more worker turns when we have to move them south again.

I think Marianne and Bianca should work on the mine NW of Ruby Tuesday this turn. On turn 109 they can finish the cottage SE of Ruby Tuesday. On turn 110 they can work on the farm on Ruby Tuesday's floodplains, and can move towards Blake on turn 111, which will let them start a farm on Blake's floodplains on turn 112 when Paint it Brown's borders pop. If we switch Paint it Brown to building culture, its borders will pop one turn sooner, in which case Marianne and Bianca would skip farming Ruby Tuesday's floodplains.

Assuming we can be logged in on the turn rollover, I would recommend upgrading Lucky Maya to Medic (or possibly combat II) this turn, and staying in place to heal. Then at the beginning of next turn she can move across the river to cover Chrissie as you suggest.

I think if we move Jagger and Bill we risk escalating the situation. As it is I doubt they are actually going to try to attack us, especially if we keep our workers covered.

I've switched Steel Wheels to building Culture.

Personally, I'd rather not commit to being logged in for the rollover, so how about mining with Marianne & Bianca, and covering Chrissie with the medic-promoted Lucky? I agree that Inca are likely to be scouting and would most likely move NE.

Given farming the FP at Ruby gives one more food than doing so at Blake, I'd rather not build culture in Paint It Brown.

And, yes, we do want to switch to REP this turn.

Lucky Maya is only at 2.4/4 health I believe. How much will a promotion heal her? I'm worried that if we upgrade her to medic and move her this turn, that Inca's Chariot would have decent odds on her even after crossing the river (especially if they can upgrade to combat I).
Reply

I promoted Lucky and she only healed to 3.1, so I evacuated Chrissie who is on the plains outside Blake. Next turn, she can improve Blake, head to Steel Wheels, or even move towards Sirian.

Revolted to REP and ended turn.
