RBP3 [Spoilers] Capac of Mali

Yay for the barb spawn!

I'd prefer to spread Taoism in Sticky Fingers as opposed to Blake. We only need 10 culture to pop Blake's border's, which we can get with a simple 10 hammer investment there. Sticky Fingers will be under cultural pressure for a long time, so we will benefit more from the culture after 10 points there. Plus it will open up the possibility for us to build a temple or monastery there.

Inca has 8 cities now! They're probably not planning to attack us, so I'm OK with killing their Chariot. If we do we'll have to figure out the war declaration/double move rules.

It would also be nice to launch an actual attack on Inca. Do you think any of our neighbors have any chariots or horse archers they could spare to send our way?

We ended turn before Inca last turn, so I think we can declare at any point without a double move.

I think we do want to build up to a proper attack on Inca, but I think we'll need to go in with more than chariots. England might be able to spare a few of those, but we really want to be to take Inca out of the game, and we can't really do that until we get some Knights.

Do you think we could raze Kalin's Burgers before Knights? Since they've expanded to 8 cities it doesn't seem like they have much defense.

Razing KB won't be a problem given it is currently garrisoned by a single Quechua, but if Inca whip their civ mercilessly into units, we'll have a hard time taking out their capital and other key cities. Also, they will surely bring Rome into any serious war (they helped Rome out when Portugal attacked them) and a two-front war will be tricky.

If we wait to attack with Knights I'm sure they'd whip their civ a bunch then, so we'd have to go up against those units anyway. It seems like now we might be able to take Kalin's Burgers pretty cheaply.

So do you want to attempt an attack on KB now, or to simply kill the chariot and see how Inca react?

We can use Poison Ivy to force them to whip a spear in KB, then move in the Mace from Paint It Brown.

I want to kill the chariot. As long as we do that we may as well move towards KB.

Well, Krill took out Ruff's exploring archer then immediately made peace, so how about we kill the chariot and move units towards KB, tell them we did so because it forked our city & worker, and see whether they call it quits and make a white peace. If they take peace then we get to plan our attack properly and, if not, then we press the attack with what we have.

Sounds good, but what do we do with Poison Ivy? Do we move her 1S2E to threaten KB? That would probably give them some "encouragement" to make peace immediately. smile

EDIT: Upon re-reading your post it looks like you probable meant to include Poison Ivy when you said "move units towards KB." I'd suggest moving her 1S2E so she can attack the city without the river crossing penalty but won't be too exposed to a spear that might be hidden.

In that case, I'll kill the Incan chariot, move the mace & Poinon Ivy, and send Inca an explanatory email.
