Neptune's Pride is a slow-paced browser strategy game. It's about ten years old now, I think. The conceit of the game is that you command fleets of starships to roam the galaxy, claim stars, and expand your economy, industry, and science to gradually conquer your opponents. Travel between stars takes hours real-time, and once per day your empire produces funds and science for you to make decisions - the idea is that it's a log-in once a day type of thing. And here is an after-action report from an earlier version of the game, played at Rock Paper Shotgun. So, I'm in Korea and don't have access to Civ at the moment, but I was wondering if people here would be interested in a Realm's Beyond game. There is diplomacy, so if you're the type of person who lets that become a timesink, beware! We can have as many as 16 players, which essentially means anyone at all who's interested should feel free to join! You can give as much or as little attention as you'd like.
