Wasn't sure if I could clear my board in 3 but was fairly certain that was all the time I had.
I clued gold first to give some time to clear out BUCK, after that I couldn't see any pitfalls. Obviously it didn't quite turn out that way.
I didn't see WATER as an option at all, and still don't know who goldwater is (google says a U.S presidential nominee in the 60's apparently? I don't even know who leading my own country at that time). The real question you should've be asking is not my age (under 30 for the record) but my country. And since my timezone is gmt +8 its very unlikely I would know who goldwater is, never mind referencing him in a word association game.
Oh well, BUCK then LUCK were the next +1's so we should still have time to reach LUCK. Bit unlucky for Bob that he hit DOG first but I can see that's not really a setback at all and still on track to win in 3.
I was super worried about Child because I had no way to pair KID or HOOD with anything else but you got there no problem.
And then the round was lost for sure with NOTE, all I can ask is why? I thought the plan for +1's was BUCK/LUCK, and had you gone down that path you would've got it either this turn or next. Changing your +1 guesses from what is written down makes it very difficult for me to plan ahead or help nudge you in the right direction.
I clued Electrical last to avoid STADIUM, that part at least went to plan. I completely blanked on WAVE though. I thought they were called electromagnetic waves and would've put it after the appliances at least, although I do see the appeal. Didn't really matter in the end since team still would've gone for BUCK.
Reasonably proud to have been close to making it, a few things differently and we could've got it. This time though we were all out of luck.
(pun fully intended)
