That should be no problem.

Not pushing for it for this game, but just to throw it out there, so I don't have to dig it up on CFC again (last mention was a decade ago).

NoScoreV2.  (mod had some other balance stuff in it, irrelevant to this discussion)
I misremembered how it worked (we had an earlier version, I got them jumbled together).  Your palace has nothing to do with it.

You get 2 points for hitting futuretech1.  And 99.999% of that (rounded down) for free.
Just setting all scoring to zero broke something in the demos screen IIRC.  This gets a constant 1pt for everyone.

Tada, no scoreboard reading for tech discoveries, pop growth, whipping sprees, bulbs, wonders, plants, captures, razes, or anything else. (other than finishing the tech tree, which we never do anyway).

Then we broke the Summary and Demos screens as well.

Want to know about your enemies?  Learn it the hard way.  Graphs and eyeballs (unit or EP visibility)

Only 2 files that matter are
\assets\python\screens\CvInfoScreen.py (breaking demos screens)
and
\Assets\XML\GlobalDefinesAlt.xml (setting scores to 1)

Other files are things duplicated here.  Fiddling tech costs, huts, etc.

This actually looks interesting to play with, given a full espionage game.

So please RefSteel say whether that is suboptimal for bigger picture. As you can see I'm itching for a new game, but also a bit hesitant reg the commitment..

Let's do this: I'll try to make the basic ninth-player edits I've envisioned tonight, and then report on whether it worked to my satisfaction and how long I expect it to take to rebalance things accordingly. (I'm hoping to still be finished within a few days.)

Beyond that, I'll just emphasize my "trying" and "hopefully" with respect to asymmetric balance!

Okay, yeah, I should be able to do this. With the nine-player version, there are still enough changes to make that it will probably take me until the end of the weekend to get it ready and reasonably balanced. (For some value of "balanced." And "reasonably.") I might be able to generate starting screenshots sooner though if that would help.

@Miguelito, settings summary looks good to me. Anything else we need to lock in before RefSteel rolls us a snake pick order?

Ref, I think starting screenshots would be greatly appreciated. I also noticed that you mentioned to be using GJ's MapCAD. Afair that included a tool to quickly export sandboxes for each player. Would it be possible for you to do that? Would be nice of course if it isn't too much of a hassle to you. (the sandboxes could of course replace the starting screenshots in that case)

I think settings-wise we should be fine? Can only think of barbarians, but maybe that should be left to Ref's judgement?

Great! Thank you, I'm in then.

Someone who is on top of things: Would it be possible to gather relevant rules/setting into opening post or some other summary. I don't even know yet, which mod we are playing..
