All it's really saying is that the attacker won 29 of its 100 battles. (I'm not sure if that takes any fortification bonus into account.) Everything else is just a restatement of the same thing, sometimes in terms of hammers lost (by multiplying the odds by the hammer cost of the unit that might be lost). The archer would have been freshly whipped so no fortification available. If i could get something like Vodka for the ease of entering in info, and cyneheards for looking at the results easier..

Could you pm me the password, if you dont mind? I'd like to think about the micro more hands on, kind of hard doing this in my head and my TI-84
Sure can.

Based on the thread title, a valid pm to ruff would be:
"why ARE you (and your axeman) here"

That would probably be considered diplo sadly.

EOT we should have control of those tiles so unless he roaded and moved more axes THIS turn, i think we should hold the city. We will lose 1 warrior, but an archer + warrior ( plus i have our scout rushing to be a backup defender... ) PLUS im having our 2nd worker rush over there to chop to get another archer completed ASAP. FT is likely holding off for now, but if we stabilize i suspect to get stabbed on that side as well. All we need to do is stabilize, get peace with Ruff... settle our 3-4 more cities, pump praets.... and take Ruff out.
If we manage to get the oracle as well throughout this... GREAT. But at this point im just happy we didnt lose Buddhism to someone else.

That's an island to the east? We want to settle that, otherwise I think we'll be forced into 7 mainland cities at best. Things could be better, but hey, we're alive!

Which, none of them are terribly low quality.. Given that we are likely to get that island(?) and i believe Refsteel said that everyone should get "roughly" 5-6 cities i think puts us in a decent long term position should we survive this without too much trouble.
1st worker finishes copper mine/roads and then begins working on the pigs. Capital will slowly begin on oracle once it has produced enough archers to prevent Ruff from taking Minnesota.
PROVIDING that that happens as planned, we should still be able to land oracle and grab Metal casting while teching to say... Iron working?

Going total survival mode on him. He honestly probably should have either A: held off a turn ( and brought his defending warrior with ) or B: Brought his defending warrior with. Would help guard that axe if it gets injured..
Anyway moving along... Capital will swap back to the corn next turn and complete another archer EOT to go with the one its completing EOT. Minnesota will complete its archer EOT and have another archer popping in 4t ( or less.. math wasnt my strong suit ) If Ruff takes his axe(s) and just bumrushes past Minnesota it will kinda suck? But i guess it gives me that much more time to whip/chop out my own axes and take those 20-50% shots at most of them. We are quite a bit away from getting say, AH and chariots which would be nice but these are the sacrifices i was willing to make.
Also looking at it, it DOES appear that he was hoping to pair up those axes this turn with one taking a swipe but he didnt count on me gaining control of that tile. Will he be popping borders in there soon? Ill have to check in game if it doesnt happen EOT for a totem pole.

Alright.
Good news: his axe didnt flawlessly win.
Bad news: it has a promo waiting.
Good news: It still gets kinda bad odds vs our archer.
Bad news: If it wins vs our archer, the city is lost.
Good news: if it loses vs the archer, the city is saved for good as we can stream in far more defenses than ruff can bring aggression.
I suspect he has 3 axes total. He also still refuses to bring that extra warrior along... but hey, i wont say no to having a chance at winning this.

Really wish he would have just attacked with that axe last turn so i dont have to watch PBSPY all day today to see if the city fell...
The way it looks, if he DOESNT bring the warrior ( along with a 3rd! axe ) I have a chance that he gets bad rolls.
The archers will arrive too late if he gets normal/good rolls. Our chance of winning were toast as soon as Ruff decided to start building axes. Our chances of being eliminated though... Thats about to go higher and higher especially if he takes/burns this city. ( its a great city/location so if he burns it ill be quite surprised )
Im hoping for bad RNG on his side of things.. a flawless killing of an axeman would be AMAZING.. but i suspect ill wake up to either A: a captured city. or B: a warrior left vs 2 axes. The scout would then turn around if a warrior is all that is left as i dont want to give him free exp. I had thought about moving the scout to the southern forest below the city, but while that would save the city for a turn providing he attacks it, it would also expose our worker, and all but guarantee the city falls with 3 c1Cover + c2 probably... axes vs an archer + warrior.
Never fails. Anytime i do something different
Ruff rushing coupled with him getting the 2nd half of the timer, coupled with trying for Oracle rather than just normal growth is what likely kills this attempt at trying something new.
GKC i do apologize for not being able to see your micro through to the end.

Meh.
Sorry this one has gone so wrong. I guess the map didn't favour peaceful plays.
Ah well, put this one on the back burner, do what damage you can, cut the numbers and focus on 48?
