There has now been an edit in Miguellitos thread where he doubts Com would come from the forrest he cant see. From Coms post turn 47 it seems to be where he would go on his "did you forget archers tour".
But does the doublemove rule extend to all turns leading up to a war dec? Dont think its that tight.

This is the reason why I think it would not be allowed to attack. In general players should try to establish a turn order before attacking. When in doubt there's our "Don't be a jerk" rule that would apply to this situation.
Commodore is also a long time player here and I doubt that he attacks knowing our mindset about double moves.

Actually, if Miguelito's only useful reaction to the Chariot's move had he seen it on T48 (which might not have been possible anyway, since it might have been on the FoW'ed forest) would have been to move his scout closer to his city, then Commodore would have gained no advantage; if you check the screenshots, you can see that he did move the Scout toward the city as much as he possibly could on T48 anyway. Commodore couldn't know no other reaction was possible though even if that's true, so it's still correct in principle that if he had been preparing for an attack, he shouldn't have made a double move.
But Commodore wasn't contemplating an attack; you can tell from his thread (and the very fact that he took a double move and, as Miguelito correctly realized, by the angle of "attack" that exposed the chariot to his view without letting the Chariot see the city center in turn) that the Chariot was just trying to keep Commodore's neighbors honest: Forcing (or call it "persuading") them to build or whip ancient defenders instead of running Farmer's Gambits. This may or may not be a good move, but it certainly accomplished its purpose!
I'm still very worried about the balance around Miguelito's start, but I will say that if you're upset about land that's better for commerce than for food and hammers, putting a bunch of those hammers into the Oracle for MC-without-Ind might not be your best play. Putting the wonder in a flatland city that's already known to be a thorn in the side of Boudica of Japan seems especially risky: Even though there's no benefit to conquering it exactly, the culture alone is likely to provoke a response if your city hasn't already.
Still not as bad as superdeath's pink dot though. I may even make a vain attempt to explain how awful a move that was in his thread....

...but no, best to play it safe and just comment here. Of course as global lurkers, we know his retroactive self-justification about Ruff planning to attack him no matter what is simply wrong, but I'll ignore that since superdeath doesn't know. I'll just say here:

Granted that it's a tight map, as specifically requested by the players, but planting and holy-citying a pink dot so severe that it basically says "Kill this city, neighbor, or else you have already lost the game" is the diametric opposite of a peaceful play. The only "peaceful" part was making this unfathomably aggressive move while running almost no military and unable to build better units than warriors. (Because he teched Meditation before Archery to plant a Holy Pink Dot on the opposite side of his capital from his Copper!)
This had nothing to do with peaceful plays or with "trying something different" or with a post-facto paranoid fantasy that Ruff would have tried an axe rush under circumstances less urgent and less favorable than these. This was just making a flat-out and egregious strategic mistake, failing utterly to take into account - in spite of sufficient scouting to see exactly what his move would do to Ruff's game unless Ruff could get rid of the city - how his play would affect another player, wrapped up in an equally-egregious tactical blunder: Even if Superdeath had been right that Ruff was planning to attack him all along, a less-aggressive city would still have been a better play, allowing him to defend himself (with a shorter distance to his capital, a plains hill plant for more hammers into units, and a longer distance to Ruff's lands, even if he'd planted it just one tile closer to home) instead of gifting his aggressor(-in-his-imagination) a free holy city.

This is so spot on. Commodore definitely has one of - if not the - biggest entertainment value in any RB player.

Imagine if the victorious 0.4hp Indian Archer ends up dooming Miguelito to Commodore’s horse archers-in-a-can timing attack with this Oracle placement. I’m also curious to see how Mr. Cairo responds to Indian Triremes in their shared sea and contested island area.

Can someone remind me why Miguellito settled that city that's about to be Horse Archer swarmed? Forests to chop The Oracle? Gold? A plan for Gold/Gems/Forges? He has an Ivory that he's not working for lack of AH, if I'm seeing this correctly.

For one thing, it seems like he couldn’t have known about the stables quest, which is going to be a bitter pill when it resolves. So he might’ve thought he could just defend with axes and spears behind 40% culture, and yeah I guess he did really want that gold?
Also, I saw my post from the 15th, having completely forgotten that I had written it. Good job, past me.
