Might be clear, but just to clarify the mechanic: On the turn that you finish a granary, it will not store anything. You turn avoid growth on so that you will have a turn with granary in place before growing. Next turn the granary will store whatever your food surplus is. (Meaning next turn you want to maximize your food surplus)
YAAAA this game is over unless a dog pile happens. I'll keep playing for fun and learning, but if people want concede I'm ok with it. That is actually just incredible. Turn 86 Hanging Gardens with AT LEAST 10 cities out. Again only other game I remember was PB4 where it was also 86, but that was an industrious civ with only 7 cities out.
2 great prophets also born this turn along with my scientist. Assuming 1 to Gira and 1 to El Grillo (assuming he used obelisks to get for his religion). I switched tech to currency, but haven't actually turned it on yet. Letting capital grow and another cottage to finish first. Plus I don't quite have the gold yet. I do regret not switching city #6 to other site; I saw this coming. I was just being hopeful. Switching Sim City to pyramids (I think the 20 hammers into aqueduct I'm just going to let rot). Was not on the list, but I have stone, I want great engineer pts, and while Lizzy doesn't want to run specialists too much representation would help me grow the capital and the insane food city up northwest would make a pretty good national epic city in the classical sense plus it has forests for wonders if I wanted to go that way. I decided to do a settler in Leap Frog for this site instead of a worker. I have a worker near Age of Empires that can chop a forest. Worst case is I get a bit of fail gold to fuel my insane research. Assuming others dogpile I can do my part by winning the lib race and going astronomy into boating Plemo everywhere. If there isn't a dogpile then game is probably over. Shorter term masaulem has become a priority. That CANNOT fall into Plemo's hands.
10 cities is very impressive under ragnar in base.

You can figure it out, you know, using PBSpy. You can filter out all the events that aren't him back to turn 25 or so. Any time his score goes up while he's logged in, that's a new city.
I think he's at 12, too. I think I counted 11 plants. Cottage spam is great stuff.

That is true; think he had 4 two pop whips so maybe one of the cities was a barb. I'm assuming he benefited from El Grillo taking out Amicola in some way. It was probably a food situation not cottage spam at this stage. Although I'm sure that's coming.
I'm imagining a second city like SD did where he had a lot of food plus was free to farmers gambit. Even still its impressive. My ETA, mind with a silver instead of 3 flood plains at my second, was about turn 95 with 10 cities before I did my panic whip. Still if we can get some kind of dog pile going in the near term and then I can contribute in the long term its possible to stop him still. Has a huge target now for sure. I've been kind of scared I would paint a target with my GNP graphs, but between my slow growth and now this hopefully people kind of forget about me. At some point I'll probably stop doing 100% 0% just to keep my head down. Current tech path is currency > sailing > organized.
yes, food and cottages. gotta pay for all those cities somehow, and cottages are the fastest improvment to make.

Met an El Grillo workboat in the west heading down towards me. Met Lazteuq scout in the east also heading down. Extended open borders offers to both.
In domestic news started two badly needed workers in Oregon Trail and Leap Frog. Research will be turned on in two turns. Currency is showing 7 turns at the moment; I also have a cottage in capital finishing that turn. |
