When u load the mod. ( Full screen ) in the corner the update window Should pop up, clicking it will update the mod.

Edit: I was able to fix both variants, now. This automatic HTTP->HTTPS redirecting stuff shots me periodical in the foot. wink

Whatever you changed made it so that the in-game update worked perfectly. Thanks so much for all this!

I still cannot solve this. Is anything supposed to happen when I click "install updates"? Do I need to add a different application than Civ4BeyondSword2015.exe to firewall rules for it to work?

For me, clicking on that caused some sort of update to run, and then it showed me a message saying to restart Civ4 for changes to take effect. I did that, and then I was all good.

If that still doesn't work, it looks like you could just reinstall the mod normally by redownloading it from PBSpy. It looks like that now has the latest.
